"You're gonna win, Kid, don't give up. Don't ever give up."

Sitting in the forth row of a crowded movie theater, Jody watched Aura deliver words of affirmation to the brooding man beside her. His sad eyes glossy in the light. Jody fought away the wetness from her own eyes. But if she were to drop a tear, it wouldn't be the first time. During the movie there were a grand total of three tears that had been shed.

Two came down during the first musical performance. Reasoning? Happiness. Jody was proud that Roger made another one of his dreams a reality. It felt surreal to see it all unfold.

The third tear came just after the Kid rescued his celestial damsel in distress. 'Joy In Repetition' penetrated Jody's soul as she imagined herself in Aura's place. "Why can't you love me, baby?" was sung just as Jody's mind begged the same wonder. The unison causing her to twist the diamond ring on her finger.

And now she began the action again. Mentally questioning why it was that she couldn't do the opposite of what Aura suggested. Give up. Give up on a thing that evidently was dead and buried. Roger wasn't going to come back. The time that has passed between them is a glaring reminder of that.

So just let go. Get over it.

Film ended. Jody successfully kept hold of her calm. Besides, if she hadn't, she would look quite foolish coming out of the theater crying. Especially when the ending was a happy one. Also, she didn't want to explain any water works to her friends. Jody's romantic past is her own and she liked to keep it that way.

She and her two companions, Ashlee and Bianca, filed from the theater. In the lobby Bianca waved the little group along as she walked speedily to the restroom. After a quick search for an empty stall, she zoomed into one on the far end.

"Praise!" was her relieved exclaim.

Jody leaned back against the sink while Ashlee checked her image in the mirrors. "Why you hold it for so long?" the primping girl questioned.

They weren't the only occupants in the restroom, but that didn't discourage Bianca from answering back from the far stall.

"And miss the movie? No way José."

Ashlee made an expression of mild disbelief, "You were that into it?"

Jody quirked a single brow at the shade in the girl's tone. The action went unnoticed as Ashlee was too busy reapplying her lipstick after having left most of it behind on her soda straw.

"If by it you mean Prince, then oh yeah." It was obvious that Bianca was grinning.

"Tell me about it!" A new voice chimed in from another stall.

Ashlee snorted.

Toilets flush identically. Out came Bianca and the conversational stranger at the same time.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to butt in, but I heard truth and had to agree."

The girl had purple hair and wore polka dots and ripped jeans. She was offbeat but in an adorable way. Jody thought she looked like she could've stepped right out of the Clinton Club.

"I thought the movie was amazing, but Prince was mad smokin." she gushed. "Those eyes, that hair. Ugh, I could die!"

Bianca's orbs were alight as she nodded in agreement. Fluttering her lids for emphasis, "Die? I'm dust."

Ashlee pulled a brush from her bag and ran it through her short curls. "It was alright."

The two fans gasped.
