Five outfits sorted out on the bed. Hands propped on hips, Jody stood in the middle of the room scrutinizing each of them. In her mind the question, what does one wear to see one's ex?

Twenty minutes she's been at this and all she's managed to do is eliminate one look.

What if it's colder than expected? What if it rains? What if a sudden riot breaks out and I'm forced to run in heels?

"This shouldn't be this hard." she sighed. Going over to the nightstand, she snatched a Twizzler from its pack and chomped off half.

Footsteps through the living room. Jody relieved, thank God, another opinion.

"T, pick a number between one and five." she called out.

"Uh...three."

That outfit consisted of a yellow mini skirt. She wasn't feeling the color. Shaking her head, "Pick another one."

"Five."

The one with pink heels. "I don't like that one either."

Tommy entering the bedroom, "What are you doing?"

Grabbing another red candy, she pointed it at the ensemble scene before her. "I got that opening to go to and I can't decide what I wanna wear."

Hands in his pockets, he looked a touch disappointed. Seeing this, Jody lifted a brow, curious.

"I didn't know that was happening so soon."

Chewing, "Yeah, my plane flies out tomorrow morning." she informed. "Why, what's wrong?"

"Nothing, I wanted to spend some time with you. I think I've seen you twice this week."

Touching at a shirt, Jody considered its texture and visualized how it might hold up in windy conditions. Sounding with a hint of distraction, "We spent all of Wednesday together."

A huff, "That's all I get is one day?"

Finishing off her candy, a laugh, "I didn't mean it that way." she said, then looking at him, "Really, I didn't know it bothered you. You've never said anything before."

Tommy nodded, "Well yah, of course it does. But I know that it's your job, so I keep it to myself."

Tucking hair behind her ear with one hand, motioning at the bed with the other. "Okay, as soon as I get done packing, you can take me out for lunch. You down?"

Smiling happily, "Sure."

Jody returned the showing before focusing back on the conundrum at hand. Gathering her hair, she let it fall back down.

"I'm pretty sure I'm overthinking this."

"Why does it matter? Just pick one, you look good in anything."

She never had a problem before. When she and Roger were together, Jody did her own thing. Sometimes she altered it a bit for his liking, but she never had a problem with indecision. Now that things are different, suddenly it mattered. Not only did she have an image to keep, but this wasn't simply Roger anymore. This is Prince. She'd be lying if she denied the want to impress him. He was so blatantly different, so she wanted to be too.

But I still have to be myself, her common sense reminded.

Outfit number four included something that she'd never wear in a million years. A purple sequined bolero jacket that would no doubt be louder than the music itself. She wasn't sure what in the Elton John hell she was on when purchasing that.
