Jody couldn't find her other earring. A diamond set in white gold. Roger bought and surprised her with them on a Tuesday morning.

"Happy Tuesdayversary."

"What?"

"Today is Tuesday."

Slowly nodding, "Okay..."

"I don't know the exact number of Tuesdays we've spent together but it's been more than ten, so, happy Tuesdayversary."

Sticking her hand into the gift bag, Jody paused. "So what are you getting me for tomorrow?"

Roger furrowed, "Tomorrow?"

"Yeah, our Wednesdayversary."

Eyes blankly on her, features dented in disapproval. "Don't be silly, there's no such thing..."

"Oh but Tuesdayversary is?" she mocked.

Holding a finger in the air, Roger took on a clever smirk. Like a magician, flourish and all, he pulled a folded piece of paper from up his sleeve. Flicking it open, he passed it to her.

The sheet was an exact recreation of a page out of the dictionary. A recreation because in the listing of definitions, there was one circled in red ink.

2s·day·ver·sa·ry

noun

/t(y)o͞ozdā ˈvərs(ə)rē/

A celebration had after a number of 2sdays (typically more than ten) are spent 2gether by a couple madly in love. [Alternate spelling 4 those without the funk: Tuesdayversary]

"I ain't see nothing about Wednesdays."

Cracking into laughter, she threw a pillow at him.

The earrings weren't even two weeks old and already one is missing. She searched high and low. Nothing. Stopping her walk, Jody had a thought.

It could've been left behind in that suite in Atlanta...

Last week Thursday, things got a little wild after an after-after show.

"Damnit." she grumbled.

Still though, she didn't want to give up.

She called out to Roger who was somewhere in the walk-in.

"Babe, are you really, really sure that you haven't seen it?"

Her outfit wouldn't be right without those studs. Technically, it would. She has plenty of others, but this particular set is special: a symbol of their bizarre love. And today, they needed all the positive symbols that they could get.

In two hours is the preliminary hearing in the case of Husney v. Nelson.

Criminal case, that is.

Owen did go forward with suing Roger and came out the victor after a handful of bystander witnesses helped prove his accusations true. The happening catapulted the name Prince to the tops of headlines around the country. And no doubt it graced a couple of foreign gossip rags as well.

And then there is this. Everyone and their grandmothers were yapping about it.

"The Prince of Pop or the Prince of Darkness?"
