Jody couldn't think of anything cheesier than getting married on Valentine's Day. But here she was walking down the aisle holding a bouquet of flowers. Taking her place at the front, she watched the bridesmaids file down with the groomsmen linked in tow.
Everyone in their designated spots, the piano began the traditional wedding march. Out came Nikki dazzling in white, her glowing beauty spoke volumes. Baby bump complimented by the draping of her gown. Jody had never seen her happier. Looking over at Devin, she saw him beaming that megawatt smile as he focused on his bride. So much love filled the place.
During the exchanging of vows, Jody's attention was grabbed by Nikki's young sister, a fellow bridesmaid. A shared whisper and a quiet laugh. Back together again, Jody's eyes locked with Tommy's; he sat out in the second row. Cleaned up in a suit, he looked like a different man. Blue orbs happy on his fiancée who knew exactly what he was thinking.
Reception. Food and dance. And dance. And dance.
After Jody got her sugar overdose, Tommy swept her away back to the glossy round at the center of the crowded ballroom. A slow dance. His hands that rested on her waist slid down her hips and meandered around to her butt. At the caressing, Jody eyed him.
"How many times have you been to the bar?"
He chuckled. "I got caught in a game of heads or tails."
Amused, "Please tell me it isn't as simple as it sounds."
"All of us flipped a coin five times. Get tails and you gotta take a shot."
"And you lost how many times?"
Nuzzling her neck, "Three."
Giggling, Jody hunched her shoulder against the tickled sensation. At her resisting, Tommy kept one hand cupping her left cheek and began tickling her side with the other. Unable to contain herself, Jody laughed out. The joyous sound drawing the eyes of those around them, some more curious than others.
Tamping her abruptness, a slight embarrassed, "T, quit it." Jody whispered still giggling. Swatting his arm when he squeezed her ass.
Abiding, Tommy smiled a teasing sight, smoothing her dress. "You said you wanted me to be more daring." he reasoned.
"Yeah but not at my best friend's wedding." Jody humored.
Her brown eyes viewing him over, she found him handsome in this moment. More so than usual and she didn't get why. He wasn't drunk by a long shot, but blissfully tipped. A relaxing overtone on top of his already laidback aura. Dare she say, sexy.
Maybe it's the suit? Maybe because his hair has been trimmed? It does look neater.
Tommy pressed his forehead to hers. Thanks to Jody's heeled height, he didn't have to duck down as much.
"There's a closet out there by the front."
Smirking, she couldn't believe her ears. Who was this man and where was her fiancé? The offer was tempting, but still this wasn't the place.
Coming in for a kiss, Tommy was considerate not to mess up her lipstick. Soft affectionate presses to her mouth he gave.
"You wanna?"
"Later. We haven't got that much longer to go anyway. You can wait, can't you?"
"If you promise you'll show me that thing you do." Leaning closer, he whispered it in her ear.
Grinning, "If you're good, I might show you something else."
"Yes Ma'am."
Another song, slow. The couple actually dancing this time around.
