~ Chapter 9~

Peridot woke up, shaking her head and stretching, feeling somewhat more well rested than normal. Peri slowly turned after hearing a small sigh. There laid Lapis, breathing and slowly and pressing herself into the pillow more. Peri looked over her sleeping figure, and a smile broke across her face. Lapis's hair fell over one of her eyes and seemed to tickle her nose. Lapis sneezed, surprising Peri. Timidly Peri reached out and moved her hair behind her ear. Lapis made a face, wiggling her nose afterwards.
"She's too good for me.." Peri said queitly to herself. She cautiously got off the bed, and grabbed her headphones off the dresser. She then began to look for her phone, which she then found in her pants from yesterday. Peri plugged in the headphones, and began listening to Joji, an artist she related to alot. She bent over and stretched a bit, keeping her eyes closed as she touched her toes with each hand. Slowly she moved upwards, intertwining her fingers and raising them up as well. She balanced herself before leaning back as far as she could. Peri tipped her head back more, glimpsing at Lapis, who was still asleep. Once she felt stretched, and she had gotten used to the flow of the music, Peri begin to sway side to side. She bent her knee slightly at every beat, moving perfectly to the melody. One foot forward, followed by a sweeping motion of the other. Her hand moving up the extended leg, then back down and upwards, her palm facing the ceiling. She turned in a circle and pumped her fist vertically to her body, bouncing one leg in rhythm to it as well. The song came to an end, and Peri breathed in deeply, waiting for the next one to play. A soft upbeat melody began to play, and Peri pulled out her phone, checking the song.
" Yeah Right.. is this new? It's by Joji.. but I've never heard this before..  hmm.." Peri let the song play, and began to sway again. This time lifting the leg she was swaying towards. Using the heel of her right foot, she made a S shape while pushing to the side with her left. Her hands moving in a slow waving motion while made her way around the room, her eyes closed and her mind focused on the song. Her hands came up and through her hair, and she rocked her hips, moving lower with each swing. She stood back up, putting her right foot forward and rocking her hips twice before changing legs and repeating a few times. Peri breathed in as she began rolling her body, becoming a bit ridged at the start, but soon getting her entire body to roll, her bent arms moving in circles with the rolling.
" Yeah right, yeah right." She sang softly, moving backwards with a light bounce in her step, and twirling slowly, opening her eyes to make sure she wasn't near anything before spinning on the ball of her foot twice. As Peri danced, Lapis had woken up, hearing the constant movement and her music faintly. She had turned over and was watching in awe.
' She can really move it, holy hell she's really good!' Lapis thought, watching as Peri swayed and moved in rhythm to what she was listening to. As Peridot turned around again, she watched her freeze and cheeks flushed red.
" Hey Beautiful. Got some nice dance moves there."
Peridot was stunned to see Lapis watching her. Garnet being the one to have taught Peridot how to dance, she had never danced in front of, let only let anyone else know that she danced at all. She pulled don't the headphones and looked down.
" I'm sorry.. it's something I do every now and then.. it's kinda like a stress reliever for me."
" There's no need to apologize. I thought it was wonderful. You are wonderful." Lapis responded in a reassuring tone. " I didn't know you could move like that. You seemed more the clumsy type honestly haha.."
" Garnet taught me.. I saw her dancing one day when I walked past her class, and wanted to learn."
" Well I'd say she taught you well. You're good Peridot. Like really good."
" You think so? I do practice alot."
" Well show me some stuff then." With that Lapis got up and stretched as well, yawning and running her hand through her hair a few times. Peridot didn't move at first, but eventually moved to grab her speaker and turn it on, hooking her phone up to it. She restarted Yeah Right, and moved closer to Lapis. When the song started to rock and sway her hips again, while Lapis watched. Once Lapis thought she had it, she tried her best to mimic Peri's movements. Peri tried to keep her smile from showing once Lapis fell in sync with her. She kept the hip movements going while moving her arms in the waving motion again, popping her shoulders too. Lapis copyed her, before turning in a circle and jumping side to side lightly while rolling her hips. She laughed and watched Peri's face lighten up with her smile, and get more into it. Lapis moved closer to Peri, putting her hands on her waist, and felt her hesitate, before continiing. Peri moved back wards, her eyes closed again as she danced on Lapis. Her heart was racing, but she wanted to impress her, so she kept going, her body pressing against Lapis while she moved fluidly. Lapis Watched, amazed and slightly surprised as Peri's hands moved up and onto her cheeks, then behind her neck. The song came to a end, and Peri turned to look at Lapis, a bit of embarrassment on her face.
"Peri that was awesome. We.. we should do that more often. It was super fucking sexy." Lapis bent alittle and kissed her, pulling her hips I to hers, not giving Peridot the chance to say anything. Once done, they both laid back in the bed, and Lapis grabbed her phone.
" I think it's a good time to call the others and let them know that everything is ok."
" Oh yeah.. I have to apologize and thank them.. again. I saw their messages, but I just didn't want to talk to them about it. I can already hear Pearl now.." Peridot sighed, turning and covering her head with a pillow. Lapis moved her hand over Peri's thigh, as she searched her phone book for Garnet's name, and pressed the call button.
" I'm sure it will be fine, don't worry." Lapis stated, trying to be uplifting. Peridot said nothing, but placed her hand on hers. Lapis could feel her shaking, and held it while the phone began ringing.
