Chapter 27

Peridot woke up the next morning and noticed that Lapis was gone. She sat up slowly and reached for her phone. She found her number and sent a message saying: " Where did you go?" She waited patiently for five minutes before getting a response. Apperently Lapis was going to the store to pick up some things. She wanted Peri to stay home and ice herself some more. Peri thought nothing of it and laid back down. But the little voice in her head started to talk. What if she was going to go meet Malachite. What would happen to her. Peridot couldn't lay still anymore. She got up and got dressed, and looked around for her bat.
" Better bring this with me just in case." She headed out the door, and down the stairs. Once outside she decided to text Garnet and let her know what was going on.
Lapis was walking down the street, picking at her nails. It had been awhile since she had been in this part of town. She was constantly looking over her shoulder. Her nerves were on edge now, and she couldn't help but shake.
" M-maybe this isn't a good idea. I should just head back right-"
Lapis, well I'll be damned. What are you doing way out here?" Said a low and menacing voice. Lapis slowly turned around and saw Malachite and his goons behind him. Worse part of it was that they all shared that same evil smile. Lapis instantly started to shake more. She tried to breathe, taking deep breaths, but that didn't help at all. She tried other methods, but none worked. Not till she started to think about Peridot. Just her smile and looks were enough to calm down. Lapis was in control of herself again. She took a deep breath and looked at Malachite.
" I'm here to tell you that I hate what you did to Peridot, and that I want you to leave us alone forever. No more popping up in my life. This is it."
So you think I'll listen to that? Well either way this isn't the place for this conversation. Follow me." Malachite said, looking very irritated. He pushed past her, followed by his crew. Lapis waited till they were a ways in front of her before continuing on. Soon enough them came to a dark laot between two building. Towards the back was a beaten down house.
" This is far enough." Malachite stopped and turned to his crew.
" Wait inside. This shouldn't take too long."
" Awww hell! Malachite needs some alone time haha!"
" Inside, now!" They continued to make jokes while walking inside. Finally he turned to face her.
" Well, the fuck you want?"
" Like I said, you will leave me and Peridot alone." Malachite seemed to consider it for awhile. Then, he spoke up.
" And why exactly should I do that? What are you going to do if I don't?"
" Put your ass in the hospital."
" Ho-ho! You think that I'm scared of you? There's nothing you could do to me to make me stop! I hate you, that's more than enough reason to try ruining your life! I'm a fucking monster don,'t you know that by now?! You are nothing with out me! You really think I won't hurt you? You're all alone here. I'll break you."
Lapis braced herself, because now Malachite was in her face. They stared at each other for awhile. Lapis didn't look away, holding his gaze with the same intensity. Malachite ended up back in off soon after.
" Fine, I'll leave y'all alone for now."
" No, that's not good enough. I want you going forever. I don't ever want to see you again." Lapis balled up her hands into fists.
" Oh shit, gonna hit me are you? Go ahead. I'll give you three good hits before I strike back."
Lapis thought about it, but turned around instead. That was when she noticed Garnet's car across the street. This was both good and bad. Bad because Peridot would be fuming. Lapis walked towards the car, ignoring the curses that Malachite was yelling out. Suddenly the car door swung open and Garnet shouted for her to duck. She did so, moved a few paces forward the turned.
" I'll fucking kill you!"
" Come try it bitch." Lapis said cooky, raising her fist to hear level. Malachite wildly swung the bat at her, but never connected. Lapis was dodging each attack with street fighting skill, and throwing jabs at his body. Malachite roared in anger and tripped her. All of her fear suddenly came rushing back. She looked up to see Malachite raising his bat above his head.
" Now who's the bitch?!" Lapis braced and looked away, but looked up again when she heard Pearl and Garnet's voice screaming for Peridot to come back. Malachite looked up as well, just in time to get hit in the face with a bat. He stumbled back and grabbed his face.
" That little cunt!" Once Peridot was in range and he could see, he swung at head level. Peri ducked and yelled while she bottled up her fist. She summoned all her strength and shot upwards, connecting with Malachites's chin. And she kept on rising until they both were off the ground. Malachite landed on his back cursing. Peridot landed awkwardly and grabbed her side. Malachite scrambled to his feet and looked her dead in the eye.
" That hit wasn't too shabby."
" Turn around now and leave, or there will be more where that came from." Peri said, raising her fists.
" Oh, you wanna fight again huh? Your ballsy. No wonder she likes you." He raised his fists and charged. Peridot moved to the side and kicked him in the side. Two more jabs followed that, and then a jump kick that barely missed.
" I'll destroy you with all the studying I've been doing on fighting games! Here I come!" Peri yelled out. But this time Malachite was too fast for her. He hit her in the side and grinned when she cried out in pain. Peri stumbled back and then regained her stance. She cocked one hand back and the other one forward.
" This will finish it."
" What the hell? This isn't a fucking game you know. God I'm going to enjoy pummeling you to the ground. One hit huh, what are you, One Punch Gem? Get the hell outta here." Peri said nothing, but kept her eyes on him. He started to move forward slowly, then began to pick up the pace.
" Peridot move! He'll run you over if you just stand there!" Lapis yelled, freaking out now.
" Shut up and watch." Peri said confidently. Malachite rushed her, and she immediately saw her opening.
" Wait..."
15 feet away.
" Not yet..."
10 feet away.
" And.."
5 feet away. Malachite lunged, his chest exposed as he prepared himself for a haymaker. Peri, let her arm fly forward right into his stomach. Malachite instantly folded around her fist, the momentum stopping him in his tracks. Peri pushed forward with all her weight ( Which wasn't very much) and propelled Malachite backwards. Malachite tried to stand once he stopped rolling, but ended up falling down and passing out, the air knocked out of his stomach. Everyone stood in shock.
" That'll teach him to fuck with us." Peri chuckled out, before turning to her group of friends.
" HOLY SHIT! DID YOU ALL SEE THAT?! IT WAS LIKE WATXHING A FUCKING ANIME!" Amethyst yelled, jumping up and down.
" That, that was rather impressive." Said Pearl, stunned. Lapis jaw had dropped at Peridot getting her revenge. Once Peridot was close enough she shut her mouth gently and kissed her. " Let's go home Lapis, it's finally done. Hopefully." She took her hand and lead her to the car, everyone in tow behind them. Lapis was still in shock, but she managed to say something finally.
" Been studying those games really hard huh?" She teased. Peri smiles and blushed, embarrassed.
" Let's get you two back home. You:be been through alot these past couple of days." Garnet said calmly. " And Peridot? Good job. Had me worried for a second." Garnet started her car and drove the scenic route back. They made it back after 30 minutes of mindless driving, and got out of the car. They said their good byes and waved them off. Lapis helped Peri up the stairs and into the bed again, grabbing am ice pack for her.
" You did great today, get some rest.." Lapis whispered. Peri just nodded and turned over to sleep.
" I still love you, don't forget that."
Lapis nodded, a year dropping from her eye. She covered her mouth and went to the kitchen to softly sob to herself.
' I don't deserve someone like Peri..' she thought to herself. She laid her head down on her arms and eventually fell asleep. All was quiet for the rest of the night, as both girls slept the events of the day away.
