(CAPTAIN WANG)

My part on the plan was simple. Take out the "guests" of the Emperor from the dungeon. It will not give me any challenge at all.

Tonight, I asked my guards in the dungeon, soldiers who are under oath that what they see or hear inside this place will never be repeated outside of it, to put sacks on the heads of our "guests".

"If they struggle or make a ruckus, gag them. Tie them if you have to. Knock them down to unconciousness. I don't give a fuck what method you use. But those "guests" had to be ready to be transported. Do you all understand?" I asked my soldiers.

"Yes, General." The Captain of the guards on the dungeon nodded at me.

"Good," I patted Captain Tzu's shoulder. I should remember to treat him and his people to a night of carousing and drinking as a reward for their dedication and loyalty to their job and the Imperial Family.

I supervised the whole proceedings. I watched in the shadowed sideline as the dungeon guards subdue, tie, gag and bundle our "guests" for transport.

I also readied a caged wagon for the "guests" to take them out of the Palace and the Capital. I will personally deliver them to Dayu who will be waiting for his "cargo" to arrive.

My role in Dayu's plan will end after I deliver his "parcel" to him. From then on out, Dayu and Mei will take charge in executing our plans.

All I can do is wait for words if they will succeed. And determining if Dayu and Mei will succeed will be easy. Because the news will be surely delivered straight to the Palace.

I should do one more thing on this plan but Dayu voided that part of the plan. "No, telling the Imperial Couple about this plan beforehand will just disrupt our mission. I need them to have a genuine reaction to the news for this to have a semblance of authenticity. Don't tell them..." Dayu decided.

"And if the Emperor asked why he is not informed?" I asked my lover.

"I will handle his Majesty," Dayu said easily. I sighed, "Diplomatically, I hope. And respectfully...please..."

Dayu stared at me. "Of course. Is there another way to address the Emperor but respectfully and diplomatically?"

Dayu is...impossible sometimes.

"You are still annoyed at the Emperor," I told him the obvious thing.

"Of course, I am." Dayu didn't deny that he is still smarting at the departure of our son. "But this is a mission we have to complete. Emotions take no part in this plan. This is pure business, Captain."

I highly doubt that. I know that Dayu knows that in the former First Minister's attempts to harm Prince Guo and kill Prince Jin, our children got involved and hurt. Dayu knows who is to blame for Hua receiving that slash wound in her arm. And my lover had been itching to take his revenge for our daughter.

And I won't stand on Dayu's way. I have learned a long time ago, since HanZong, that you will only get hurt if you will go between Dayu and his prey. Or oppose him. To avoid getting hurt, you have to give Dayu a wide berth to get to his prey or actively support him.

And in this instance, I am actively supporting my lover. We will both spare no one who thinks they can harm our children.
