Agust D's Point of View
I watched that flashing light anxiously. It was something bad, even if it ended up not being a bomb. Flashing lights on train tracks were never a good thing.
I prayed to any god that would listen. I prayed that either this train would be stopped or that I would survive whatever happened because of that light. I promised myself that if I survived this whole event, I would be a better person to everyone.
I opened my eyes and saw the light flashing faster. The light burst, and the rest of the device followed seconds after in an explosion that opened a hole in the bridge just wide enough to let the train through and onto the highway below.
I scrambled to the edge of the train. If I stayed on the top, I would die for sure. As the train was about to go through the new hole, I managed to grab onto the rungs of the ladder.
I heard people screaming below. I closed my eyes tightly. I didn't want to see the ground rushing up at me. I didn't want to see the people with their phones pointed in my direction as I held desperately onto the ladder. Everything went black when I hit the ground.
I woke up and it was dark. Fires burned on cars and the train I had been trapped in. I was very bored, so I grabbed a bat laying on the ground. I started swinging it into car windshields. It wasn't going to hurt anything; they were already broken as hell anyways.
I noticed some flammable looking fluids on the ground. I found a silver boxy lighter, the kind that you had to flip the top of to light. I opened it and lit it, admiring the flames before tossing it into the fluids. They ignited and I smiled as I watched the flames.
I wondered where the reporters and rescue workers were. Then it occurred to me that it had been daytime when the bridge exploded and the train fell through, and now it was nighttime. Rescue work was usually done in the day. They had probably already reported on all this and saved everyone they could find. I looked around me. I was trapped in an odd kind of triangle of cars and train. I looked back to where I had been when I woke up; I had been half-under a barely balanced car, and it would have been easy to miss me from outside this strange little container I was in. They didn't look close enough and missed me.
I sat heavily on the highway concrete. I sighed and put my hands on my cheeks. They felt really squishy for some reason. I messed around with them and explored exactly how squishy they were.
Suddenly, the road beneath me shifted. My head darted back up, my hands shoving me off the ground. I saw the edge of the highway collapsing downwards, towards the ocean below. The dipping spread towards me as the train fell into the ocean and took some of the road with it. I tried to walk backwards, away from the falling concrete, but I tripped over my feet and fell. The road under me started crumbling and I was dragged towards the edge with the concrete that I was laying on. I screamed as a piece of metal stabbed into my leg.
I grabbed another piece of metal and held myself up so there wasn't as much pressure on the metal through my leg. I didn't have the strength to pull myself up. I cursed myself for screwing around with the bat when I could have gotten away from here. Now, instead of being able to walk away and being relatively safe, I was impaled through the leg with a piece of metal, hanging desperately onto another piece of metal to prevent myself from falling into the ocean.
I wasn't going to survive long with that metal through my leg. I hoped someone would come for me soon.
I tried to stay awake. I wouldn't be able to hold on if I left my state of consciousness. But I kept nodding off, my eyes getting heavier as I lost more and more blood. I just hoped it wasn't a major artery, because then there was absolutely no chance of survival for me. I wrapped my arms around the metal as tightly as I could. I managed to tangle my jacket in the metal, and I hoped that would keep me up. Everything finally went dark again as my eyes closed for the final time that night.
