Kihyun's Point of View

I walked into a plain, squarish room when I walked out of the smoke. There was a display of fanned out swords around an anvil aligned with the window on the door. I couldn't see anything except a door like mine and a bit of the wall around the other door out the window.

I walked over to the anvil and saw a hammer, the handle wrapped in white fabric that looked to be falling apart. I sat against the wall, still holding it, and just looked at it for a while. The head of the hammer looked heavy and it was scarred from previous use. I looked over to the window. It didn't look very strong. Maybe I could break the glass and get out.

I stood up, walking to the door while carefully avoiding the swords on my way. I paused when I stood in front of the door, suddenly unsure of whether I should do this or not. I took a deep breath in and sighed. It's not like I had anything better to do. I brought my arm back and swung the hammer to the window as hard as I could. The hammer just... stopped moving when it touched the glass. There wasn't even a scratch when I moved the hammer away. I sighed and sat back against the wall.

I started wondering why my first instinct had been to break the window. I mean, the anvil was obviously here for a reason, and that was probably for me to use it and make something. But I chose to take the easy way out and try to break the glass. Had I always chosen the easy way, which was violence, over the hard way, which was peace? I think I had, to be honest. I had a vague memory of firing a gun at people who were begging for mercy, and another of dragging a heavy bag that leaked blood down an abandoned hallway.

I stood up and walked over to the anvil. I noticed that steam was coming off the swords around it; the swords were glowing red now, like they'd been put in a fire. I grabbed the hilt of one and started hammering on it, grabbing another and forming them all into a series of letters. I lost track of the time.

When I finished and all the swords were used, I set the thing on the ground. I stepped back and looked at what was wrought in metal. X Clan. I saw 7 initials engraved deep into the metal, SN, MH, IM, HW, WH, KH, and JH. All my friends, and me included.

I hung the letters from the wall and sat against the front of the anvil, facing the door, and waited for it to open.
