Kihyun's Point of View
Sometime during the battle, I had managed to get back into the town. It was dark and quiet, so different than I was used to. I noticed some buildings on fire in the distance. I relaxed a little, thinking I was safe, but then I heard a gunshot.
A searing pain blossomed in my right leg. I stumbled and fell to the ground. I tried to stand but my leg wouldn't take my weight. I saw some old crutches, abandoned years ago from the look of them. They were faded and designed years ago, but that wasn't going to stop me from using them.
I crawled over to them and grabbed them, pushing myself up and leaning against the wall. When I was standing I put them under my arms and left my gun where it was on the ground as I hobbled away with the crutches. It was out of ammo anyways.
I tried to go at a decent speed, but everything felt so slow. Even worse was the fact that I could hear yelling and footsteps behind me. I tried to go faster, but it wasn't working. I pulled the vial of blue liquid out if my pocket and downed it. I sighed in relief as I felt the pain in my leg lessen.
I threw the crutches away and started to run. It was hard at first, and painful, because my leg wasn't fully healed when I started running. But I ignored the pain and kept running. I ran right out of the town.
I caught up with the others, with the exception of Minhyuk and Hyungwon who weren't among the others running, and followed them. We were outmatched in the battle, and now we were running because that was all we could do at this point.
We ran through falling ash, trying to breathe as little of it in as possible. I wondered why Minhyuk and Hyungwon weren't here.

Hyungwon's Point of View
I had been shot early on in the battle. I tried to fight through the pain, but it finally caught up with me beneath a stone bridge. Ash was falling all around me like snow.
I coughed and covered the bleeding wound near my left hip with my hands. I felt the warm blood seeping through my fingers. I searched my pockets for the blue stuff, but I seemed to have lost it.
In irritation, anger, and pain, I threw my head back onto the river under the bridge. I groaned as I opened a new cut on my head. I closed my eyes and decided to just let what was going to happen, happen.
"Hyungwon," I heard from a distance. That sounded like Minhyuk. I weakly tried to pry my eyes open, but it wouldn't work. "Oh my god, Hyungwon you're hurt! Hold on just let me, just hang on okay? You're gonna be fine," he said frantically. I felt something press against my lips. "Eat this. It's one of the flowers that blue liquid was made of. If that stuff heals, so should this," he told me.
I obediently opened my mouth and closed my lips around the flower. I felt the pain in my hip go away. I smiled and opened my eyes as Minhyuk pulled me up. We started running, and he kept a tight grip on my hand as he led me somewhere. I trusted him to know where he was going.
He was running in front of me, leading me, so he didn't see when my smile faltered. Because my inner voice had just told me that I was a waste, and Minhyuk had only helped me because the others would wonder where I was if he showed up without me. He saved me because he was a horrible liar and the others would hate him, throw him out if they knew he had found me hurt and left me to die.
No, he is my friend. He saved me because he thinks I am worth saving, I argued with my inner voice.
You are pathetic. You are the weakest one in this group, why would they even want to keep you around? If it weren't for Minhyuk needing to keep his reputation with the others up, he would have left you to die. He doesn't care, my voice said back to me.
That's not true. He burned Father's City Hall down after he found out he was beating me. He cares enough to want to take revenge for me, I said. I was getting desperate for arguments in Minhyuk's defense.
That boy did that for fun. He saw you beat and got angry about knowing someone so weak. He burned City Hall because it would make the others look like he did it in your defense. That boy loves fire, and he did that for the pure fun of it. If he hadn't found you beat, he would have burned some other building. And you know that, the voice said cruelly.
And it kind of made sense to me. Everything the voice had said made sense. I was a waste of time and effort. If my father -my flesh and blood- didn't want me, then who would. Who would want a weak little boy whose father didn't even love him.
My thoughts were interrupted when we caught up with the others, who were also running from the battle. I plastered a fake smile onto my face and ran with them. They couldn't know that I knew they were all faking. None of them really wanted me, they just pitied me. That was why they let me hang around.
We ran completely out of the town and into a wide field I had never known was there. I looked into the cloudy night sky and saw a large blue mass, beating like a heart. Thick blue smoke poured from it with every pump of the thing.
I saw the others in front of Minhyuk and I fall down to the ground, almost lifelessly as the smoke surrounded them. I basked in the faint blue light coning from it and enjoyed the coolness of the smoke on my burning skin. A real smile replaced the fake one as I fell into a lovely sleep.
