she saw his back disappearing deep in the forest and sighed as she turned around and walked to the hallway, locking herself in her room.
the new arrival of kihyun surely upsetted her, especially since now everything that she thought she knew about kibum might have been a lie and the single thought of it, hurt, like million of needles sticking into her skin.
again the tears began to fall as she desperately begged for him to appear on her dreams or to receive a sign that made her believe that this guy was lying and her kibum always told her the truth. or maybe, if he hid the fact that he had a twin brother, was because he always thought it was the best for her.
either way, she felt lonely and helpless in that house. now not only she had the memory if kibum constantly surrounding her through the things he left behind, but there was also someone who painfully looked exactly the same as he did when he was alive.
hours passed and she opened her eyes only to realize she fell asleep. checking her clock, she realized it was almost lunch time.
as usual she wasn't hungry but she remembered her mother's words, encouraging for her to eat in order to keep healthy as that was what kibum would have wanted.
the heavy headache was an announcement that she had not eaten all day, nor since the previous afternoon.
so gathering her strength, she walked out of the room, wrapping herself on his green knitted cardigan, the only piece of clothing that seemed to bring her a bearable comfort.
she stopped on her tracks when her eyes caught the sight of him, cooking in the kitchen. chopping vegetables, a kitchen rag hanging carelessly on his shoulder, a single strand of black hair resting softly on his forehead. he seemed skilled with the knife and then it hit her.
it wasn't him.
all over again, the thought of that person don't being him hit her hard, like a truck. it was only his twin brother, who inconveniently, looked exactly like him.
kibum would cook here and there, simple things but he'd always make a mess in the kitchen, if he didn't cut a finger then he'd splash flour around or make an even worse mess.
this one though, was different. he seemed organized and skilled. it was obviously not kibum.
"you're awake." he noticed her, glancing quickly at her but returning his eyes to the stove.
"i hope you're hungry, i am making soup - he turned around and grabbed the chopped green onions on the table and added them to the soup - it seems you need to eat something."
she approached hesitantely as she glanced at the food. "where did you get those?"
he shrugged. "i walked to the nearest shop, no biggie." he added some salt and herbs to the soup and the delicious smell made her tummy groal.
he looked for the bowls on the cabinets but it seemed like every cabinet he opened, he'd find something completely different.
"top left." she said swallowing hard. he glanced at her and then opened the top left cabinet and found a set of 4 bowls. "there you are."
he grabbed two of them and poured the chicken soup, bringing one to her, at the breakfast table. "enjoy." he simply said, leaving a spoon next to the bowl.
hesitantely and looking at him with cautious eyes, she approached like a nagged puppy and sat on the chair, bringing the bowl closer. it smelled amazing and looked the same way.
