"that fish was delicious, i didn't know you were so skilled." yuna finally admitted as she cleaned her lips and fingers with a napkin. kihyun looked at her with a proud smile.
"thanks... i think that's the first nice thing you've said to me." she playfully glared at him. the air somehow was lighter after that dinner under the stars. it was yuna's first time actually eating out, under the moonlight and she didn't find the experience disgusting nor upsetting at all. in fact it was pleasant and it even improved her mood.
"maybe i exceeded myself, i am sorry- she started but kihyun pushed softly with playful eyes.
"aniyo... thanks." he simply said picking a dead leaf from the ground and playing with it. she tried to looked away as a small smile formed on her lips.
it felt nice. sharing with someone who wasn't constantly feeling pity about you and your lost. he had lost someone too, even if they didn't seem close at all.
"listen- kihyun started but soon a drop of water landed on his nose. they both looked up and suddenly an army of cold drops descended over them, all at the same time. yuna exclaimed as she tried to cover her head.
they both looked towards the house but it was so far from where they were. "quickly, the shed." he said pointing to the small house. yuna nodded and rushed behind him.
as they approached the refuge, he opened the door and stepped aside to let her inside first. once in the solitude of the little house and under a kind-of-strong and protective shelter, they finally breathed again.
there were a few leaks of the roof. they both glanced at them. "i'll fix that in the morning." he said drying his forehead and hair. yuna did the same.
they looked at each other for a second but then they looked away. "i guess we'll have to wait here until it's pouring less." he added.
"sure." she simply said hugging herself. kihyun assumed she was cold so he quickly removed his hoodie and offered it to her. she noticed he had a tshirt under it. "here."
"aniyo- she shook her hands - i am fine, really." but he insisted and slid the hoodie through her head. "you can catch a cold, we don't want that." he said with scolding eyes, finally turning around and looking through the window.
the small fireplace slowly consumming, being extinguished slowly by the cold water. "kihyun-ssi..." she called his name. he only hummed.
yuna swallowed hard as she tried to come up with a good excuse to ask about it. but truth be told there wasn't any excuse nor way to do it.
she noticed how he was about to ask her something before he was interrupted by the rain, when it started to pour and before they had ran towards the shed.
"what were you going to ask me back then?" she stared at him, trying to see if he was nervous about the question. she wanted to see if he was going to lie about it, if maybe he changed his mind after he started the question.
kihyun bit his lip. "nothing really... something dumb."
"like what?" she inquired.
it wasn't really her thing to let go of things. she noticed before he wanted to ask something and now was really curious about it.
"well... why did you become a lawyer?" he asked, crossing his arms on his chest, leaning on the wall.
yuna sighed in disappointment since she was expecting something completely different. "oh... that." she said nodding.
