Chpt 17 - Some Casual Time

3 Months Later... (Present Day)

Jason sighs once again, strolling through the forest as he scrapes his feet lazily across the ground. But then a sudden feeling made him stop. A feeling... like he was being watched.

"Azalea?" He calls out, "Is that you?"

He doesn't get an answer. Jason draws his sword, spinning slowly in a circle. His sword trembles in his hand as the air becomes colder and the passive animals fall silent, he glances around, turning his head back and forth with caution.

"W-who's there?" Jason asks nervously.

The drawing of a sword draws his attention to a tree behind him. He was expecting someone to be standing there, but instead he only saw a diamond sword, levitating as its owner held it, completely invisible.

"Jason." The owner on the diamond sword says darkly, "I thought I might find you here."

"Sh-Shadow?" Jason stammers.

"You have no idea how long I have been waiting for this day." Shadow says, "Now it is time to seek my revenge."

"Revenge on who?" Jason asks.

Even though Shadow was invisible, Jason could sense her facepalming, "Revenge on you, idiot! After all, you were the one who murdered me."

"What?" Jason responds, stepping back as he sensed Shadow running towards him as the levitating diamond sword approached him.

"Woah!" Jason's sword clashes with Shadow's, "Shadow! What are you doing?" He cries.

"What's it look like?" Their swords crash into each other again, "Getting vengeance!"

"But I wasn't the one who killed you!" Jason protests.

"Don't try lying to me!" Shadow shouts, "I know you lied to Sky as well!"

"What on earth are you talking about?" Jason replies in a panicky tone, "You need to snap out of it!"

Jason almost fails to block Shadow's strike as she brings her sword down on him, "Shadow!" Jason bellows, "Stop!"

"No!" Shadows shouts back, "I'm not stopping until my work is done!"

"Jason?" Azalea calls out, "What's going on?"

"No time to explain!" Jason responds, "Just help me!"

"Umm... okay?" Azalea draws her sword slowly.

Shadow gasps, and the diamond sword drops to the ground.

"What's happening?" Azalea asks desperately.

Shadow appears visible in front of Jason, staring at Azalea like she'd seen a ghost.

"Shadow?" Azalea whispers.

Shadow shakes her head in disbelief, turns and runs away at the speed of light. Leaving just the diamond sword as evidence of her presence.

"Should I go after her?" Azalea asks.

"No." Jason answers sternly, "That would be... a very bad idea."

"But Shadow is... you love her." Azalea argues in a soft tone.

"I know." Jason replies, turning his head in the direction Shadow left, "But... she tried to kill me."

Azalea furrows her brow, "Why?"

"I don't know." Jason answers, "She thinks that I killed her."

"That can't be right." Azalea replies in disbelief, "What do you propose we do?"
