Chpt 29 - L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N. (Jason's POV)

"Argh..." I wake with a groan, a pounding in my head, and my vision blurry.

"Hey... TrueMU." A soft voice says down to me as I lay in a bed.

I force my eyes to focus on the girl standing beside me, smiling sweetly with her fingers knitted.

"Sc-Scarlet? I... I think I'm dead."

She giggles, "No you're not, silly."

Another girl joins Scarlet's side, "Hey."

"Shadow? I knew it. I'm dead." I say.

Shadow chuckles, "Nice try. You certainly gave death a good shot."

"But you failed! You're alive!" Scarlet says, "Yay!" she claps like a seal.

"Oh man... how long was I out for?" I ask.

"A week." Shadow answers.

"A week? What happened?" I question.

"It's kinda hard to explain..." Scarlet replies.

"It can't be that hard." I respond, "Did we win? Did Herobrine die?"

"What she means is..." Shadow says, "We're not sure you'll be able to handle the news too well."

"Well... I'll need to know sooner or later." I reply.

"Yeah... but it's still upsetting." Shadow responds.

"Can you tell me anyway?" I ask.

Shadow looked like she was just about to cry, she sighs, "After you passed out, Adam took on Herobrine by himself. Adam fought brilliantly but... in his final breath after I stabbed him, Herobrine stabbed Adam." She looks down onto the floor, "There was nothing we could do."

"You mean he's... he's..."

"Gone. Yes." Shadow finishes for me, "Herobrine is gone too, but sacrifices had to be made obviously."

I didn't say anything for a few moments, looking down at my feet, "Is there anything else I need to know?"

"Yes." Scarlet answers, "Mitch and Aza are king and queen... it was Sky's wish apparently."

I nod, "Where is everyone?"

"They're not here." Shadow replies, "I think... they're waiting for you in your realm."

"Okay." I respond, "Maybe I should... go back."

"Yes." Shadow agrees, "I'll err... see you later then."

I open my eyes slowly, watching as Azalea's face lit up, "Hi."

"Hi." I reply, smiling.

Azalea turns her head towards the door, "Hey Ty, he's awake."

"Really?" Ty walks in.

"No I thought I'd just lie to you." Azalea jokes.

Ty narrows his eyes, "I really hate you sometimes, Aza."

"Nothing new there then." She replies.

Ty sits on the bed, "How you doing, man?"

"Better... thanks." I respond.

"Did she tell you?" Azalea asks.

"Huh?" I grunt.

"Shadow." She says, "Did she tell you?"

I nod with a small frown. Azalea nods too, glancing towards Ty.

"He fought good." Ty says, "And he'll always be here." He puts a hand on his heart, "I'll see ya later guys." He gets up and leaves.

"So... what now?" I ask.

Azalea exhales, her sad blue eyes turning murky and bleak, "Well... I got Mitch. You got Shadow. We can go back to Minecraftia whenever we want..." she stands up, "L-I-F-E-G-O-E-S-O-N."
