I feel so bad. This has been all my fault. I’m so angry with myself, so furious, why can’t I control my feelings? For goodness sake, he’s been taken! Why can’t I accept that?

I’m talking about Mitch, you know. Yesterday was err… unexpected let’s just say that.

Okay. Let me start from the beginning, the day before yesterday in Minecraft.

Mitch and I were walking back to our rooms, when we heard Jason and Azalea ahead of us, talking quietly.

“Cool.” Jason says, “‘Cause you know… I thought we could have some fun.”

I turn to Mitch to read his face, it didn’t look impressed.

“Yeah.” Azalea replies with a lack of enthusiasm.

We continued to walk slowly, edging closer to Azalea and Jason. We heard a door opening.

“Jason.” Azalea says, in a tone that said she was almost fed up of him, “That’s… that’s really nice of you… Good night.”

I could tell on Mitch’s face he didn’t like the length of that pause before Azalea’s farewell.

We approached Azalea’s room silently, watching as Jason let out a sigh and stepped back. He turned to us, jumping out of his skin, “Guys! You scared me to death.”

I play dumb and pretend I never heard their conversation, “Sorry about that. But err... isn't your room... down here?” I pointed to a room a few doors down behind me.

Jason stares at my arm for a while, figuring out what to say to that, “Oh! Umm... yeah. I was just err...”

“Just what, Jason?” Mitch asked angrily, emphasising the ‘J’s.

“Just err... you know... saying good night to Azalea.” He responds with a nervous laugh, “No harm in that, right?”

Mitch steps forward with his right foot, “Right.” He replied sternly, “But you better keep your distance, I've got an eye on you.”

I could see things were about to heat up, so I play innocent and try to subconsciously convince Mitch to leave Jason alone, “Mitch,” I say, making him turn to me, “there's no need to talk like that!” an anxious chuckle escaped my lips, “We all appreciate Aza’s with you more than anybody else.”

“Yep.” Jason replied quickly, “Night guys.”

He obviously didn’t want a fight. Not tonight anyway.

Mitch continues to glare at him as Jason stumbled past us towards his room. I beckoned Mitch to walk with me as soon as Jason disappeared, “Hey. Mitch.”

“What?” he asked firmly.

“We’re not doing much tomorrow. Maybe we could go out, spend some time together like the good old days.”

“The good old days?” Mitch repeated.

I realise my slight slip up, “Now don’t get me wrong,” I say, “Aza’s probably the best thing that’s happened to you, but, every once in a while, every guy needs some quality time with his best mate, right?”
