CHAPTER 1
NIANA'S POV
"ARE YOU alright, Miss Alcantara?"
Napaangat ang tingin ko sa nagsalita.
It's Professor Jim, our professor in Technological Science Discoveries I.
Even if I don't look in my surroundings, I'm aware na nakaagaw atensyon ako sa mga classmate ko kahit pa tahimik sila. It made me feel uncomfortable because of that.
"Do you want to be taken to the clinic?" Bakas sa tono niya ang concern. After all, he's renowned to be the kindest professor in Cessation High. Not to mention na may itsura pa.
"No need, Sir. I-I can manage po." I guess.
"You sure?"
He's in his mid-20's. I think twenty-seven.
Based on his features, siguro he's twenty four or twenty five.
Fudge. It was a wrong move to look at him.
I didn't touch him pero nakita ko na agad ang future niya through his eyes. Hindi ko sinasadya iyon, napatingin ako directly into his eyes. . . misunderstanding.
I think one year from now ang nakita ko. He's with a woman. They are arguing about something that I don't know. What I saw was clearly a misunderstanding. It's rather intriguing. Wala namang girlfriend si sir Jim. 'Yong babaeng 'yon kaya ay mama niya or one of his friends? I'm quite sure she's with a woman in that vision.
It's actually blurry. Tila cellphone na parang nagha-hang or nagla-lag. There are so many glitches around and the voices I heard—parang galing sa ilalim ng tubig. His future is a mess. Now I'm overthinking about it.
Blurred and glitches in the vision means fifty-fifty possibility, at least para sa akin. Ang chances na mangyayari ang nakita ko ay nasa gitna ng likely to be at unlikely to be.
Sa buong buhay ko na gamit-gamit ang abilidad na ito, alam ko na ang mga senyales ng mga glitches, strings with varieties of colors, symbols, and so on. Marami pang iba. Unless it's worthy of my interest.
Seeing Sir Jim's future raises another interest to me. I know it means uncertainty or inaccurate vision na maaaring magbago depende sa mga desisyon at choices nila, but the fact that all of them have glitching futures is uncanny.
I lightly shook my head.
