You looked nervously around at all the people around you in Mephiland and clung to Yukios arm. Its beautiful out today, so of course the place would be like this. But every where you look you see the faces of students from True Cross Academy. Which you have to admit has you a little on edge.
"Yukio," you said giving his arm a slight tug, "are you sure is okay for us to be here like this?"
"What do you mean?" He asked, giving you a smile. You know he's being purposly dense. But can't help the small smile that you send his way.
"You know what I mean," you said back as the two of you made your way into the line of one of Mephilands biggest roller coasters.
"I'm afraid I don't," his smile grew and he leaned back against a metal railing that kept the line organized.
You smiled and lightly smacked his shoulder.
"Yeah, you do." You said with a partial sigh, "are you sure its okay for you and I to be together like this with all these True Cross students around?"
"Don't worry about it," he assured you.
"Okay," you said softly and hopped up to sit on top of the railing opposite Yukio.
The line moved sluggishly enough for you to be able to keep up with it by scooting along the railing. You had kinda zoned out, not really looking at anyone or anything in particular thank goodness. But you were brought back to reality when realized Yukio had been talking to you.
"What?" You asked sounding rather ditzy.
"I asked if you're okay," Yukio said back with concern in his eyes.
"I'm fine," you said giving him a small smile, "I just, don't want to mess anything up for you. I don't want anything to happen with your job because of me."
Yukios face turned a barely visible pink at the sincerity in your voice. But he quickly shook it off and repositioned his glasses up his nose.
"Don't worry so much," he said, stepping forward to rest his hand on yours, "I can take care of myself"
With you perched on the railing you were perfectly eye to eye with him. You felt as though you could drown in the deep teal of his eyes. He had never really looked at you like this before. The gentleness of his gaze made butterflies form in your stomach. But the heat of it also made you feel like you could melt against him. You looked away first, hoping for something to catch his attention with.
"Hey!" You said excitedly, and hopped off the railing, "we're up next!"
You smiled brightly at him and rushed towards the seats in the front of the rollercoaster. He hesitated to follow after you for a second, but after an eager "c'mon!" from you he smiled and followed. You slipped into a seat and buckled in as Yukio slipped next to you. One of the ride operators came and pulled down a large metal bar onto your laps and suddenly you were a little afraid.
The ride had already begun to climb a very, very large slope, when you realized just how scared you were.
"U-um, Yukio," you said and nervously clutched the bar across your lap.
"Yes?" He asked, looking a little nervous himself.
"I think I forgot to tell you that I've never been on a rollercoaster before." You said, and gave him an unsure/apologetic smile.
"Then it'll be a first for both of us,"
He gave you a small smile and grabbed one of your hands in his. His other had held the bar across your laps almost as hard as you were. You couldn't help the smile that formed on your face as the coaster started to tumble over the highest point of the ride.
With each turn and twist, each incline and descent you actually laughed a little. Never once letting go of Yukios hand.
You held his hand through out the rest of your day at the amusement park as well. He didn't protest and neither did you. In fact neither of you had really noticed. The feeling of your hand in his just felt so natural. You barely even noticed the stares that other True Cross Academy girls gave you.
"Hey!" You heard a familiar voice call from somewhere in the back of the line you two were in.
A handfull of bodies came towards where you stood, and when you realized who it was you suddenly became very aware of the fact that Yukios hand is still wrapped around yours. You reluctantly let go of him and laced your hands behind your back as Rin and a few more of your class mates came crashing through a couple bodies to you two.
"We didn't know you guys were here!" Rin said excitedly with a cute grin stretched across his face, "we could've met up somewhere."
Yukio seemed a little irritated at their unexpected appearance but hid it well beneath a calm expression.
"Don't you all have essays you should be writing for me?" Yukio asked, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose.
"We all got together and got them finished!" Rin responded with a smug smile. "Who are you guys here with?"
Rin and the others looked around to see if the noticed someone they knew. You bit at the inside of your cheek, waiting for someone to say something. And of course, Shima was the first to say it.
"Are you two on a date?" He asked and raised an eyebrow at the two of you.
"Er,... uh," you said and nervously rubbed the back of your neck.
"Yes," Yukio said, wrapping his arm around your waist and pulling you against his side.
You couldn't help but blush and glance at him. His answer surprised you.
"Now I see why she has a perfect grade in your class!" Rin laughed, "you're only giving her good grades because she's your girlfriend!"
"I give her good grades because they're the grades she deserves." Yukio said, giving his brother a dangerous glare. "She doesn't slack off like you often do Rin."
A loud announcer came on the amusement parks p/a system and said that the park would now be closing for the evening.
Yukio, still holding you by your waist, quickly guided you through the small group of your classmates and out of Mephiland. Once outside of the theme park, he let go of your waist and slipped his hand into yours again. A long silence gathered around you two as he walked you to your nearby apartment. You smiled, and decided to break the quiet.
"So, that was a date?" You asked with a small coy smile in Yukios direction.
"Of course, I thought I made that clear." He said and smiled back at you.
You and Yukio had hung out many times since you asked him out to ice cream. But neither of you had ever used the word date. A small blush formed on your cheeks at this realization. You let him walk you to the door of your apartment, and when you got to the door you leaned your back against the wood of it and smiled at him.
"What?" He asked smiling back at you.
"I had a great time with you today Yukio," you said softly and glanced at the floor then back at him.
"I always enjoy my time with you," he replied.
His words made your blush worsen a little.
"Its good to know I'm not a burden to put up with," you teased, trying to prevent the seriousness that seemed to be growing.
"You could never be a burden to me," he said softly. He looked at you the same way he had earlier. It made your tummy do flip flops and your brain go fuzzy. He seemed to be getting closer and you didn't mind.
"Would it be okay if I kissed you right now?" He whispered, barely a centimeter from your lips.
"Please," you answered softly with a gentle nod.
He complied without hesitation. His lips gentle and sweet. When he pulled away it left you wanting more. That kiss made you feel so brave, you could barely contain the words that came rushing out.
"Yukio, will you be my boyfriend?"
He looked down at you with those captivating eyes of his, and encircled your waist in his arms. He came close again as if to kiss you, but rested his forehead against yours instead. The smile that played on his lips was small and teasing.
"I thought I already was."
