Fixed (Sequel to Broken)

I woke up in the hospital in my torn up tux after the crash I had caused us to get into. I looked to the empty hospital bed next to mine.

"Hey mate." Harry came up next to me.

"Where's Sarah?" I asked with a hard tone.

"Niall... Sarah died."

"What?"

Died? She's dead.
Fuck. Of course I had to be the careless idiot who crashed only to have the love of my life die! I should be dead not her!

I came home from the hospital in the dark apartment. Empty. Everything empty.
The bed. The rooms. The space. The world. This life. My heart. Me.
So empty without her.
I enraged with anger at myself.
She's dead because I couldn't save her.
I grabbed the first sharp object I found and slashed it across my arms. The pain wasn't enough.
I could only compare this harsh slashing pain to the pain Sarah felt of being dead. I dropped the knife from my bloody hands.
I hastily rummaged through my drawer until I found the black object I desired.
I filled the chamber with bullets and held the gun to my head as I sat on my knees.
There was a knock at my door which I hardly heard over my sobs.

"Niall?" I heard Harry.
Harry has been here for me since day one. He didn't need to see this.
I only hoped for the strength to do it. To pull the trigger. Kill myself before Harry came in my room. He doesn't deserve to watch his best mate shoot a bullet through his head.

"NIALL!" Harry shouted, entering the room I use to share with my dead wife.

"Niall, put the gun down." Harry slowly stepped towards me.

"No! She's dead because of me! I couldn't save her!" I hollered back, still holding the gun to my temple.

"Mate, don't do this."

"I love her! I need to be with her! Please just let me!"

"Niall, put down the gun. Please."

"Just let me do this! I have to! It's the only way I'll see her again!"

"Niall."

"On three." I whispered. "One."

"Stop!"

"Two."

"No! Niall! Don't!"
