You've heard the myths, the legends. You watched the movies, heard the songs, but has it happened to you? No. The Red Thread of Fate. Supposedly everyone has one; the string which is only visible to you and whoever else it's connected to, this invisible red thread connecting two soulmates. Is it really true? You often wonder as you look down at the string often that is securely tied around your pinky and leading to who knows where. You've seen a few of your friends actually find their soulmate, it genuinely surprised you.

If they found their significant other yours must be out there, right? 'Please don't let him be a creep...'  Many 'what ifs' entered your mind all the time. You had no idea what man was out there waiting for you, what if he's a complete weirdo? A creeper? A murderer? Or just a complete douche canoe. You sighed as you sat down in class in the back of the room waiting for your class to start as you opened up your notebook knowing damn well you were not going to be able to focus today on the lesson.

'I wonder if he's funny? Is he tall?'  So many scenarios were being created by your mind as you barely even noticed the teacher walk in and begin the lecture. You spun your pencil around in your fingers as you continued to imagine what your soulmate could be until the bell finally snapped you out of your thoughts. Packing your books and notebook away, your friends waited by your desk as you gathered your belongings. "Ibuki thinks Y/N is very distracted!" You blinked your E/C eyes as you looked over your shoulder seeing Ibuki, Chiaki and Akane, your three good friends. "You good? Let's go to lunch already!" Akane grinned as you sighed. That girl is always eating.

"Uh, yeah I'm fine I guess." As you four began to walk to the cafeteria, your eyes would often fall down to the scarlet thread on your pinky. 'How can it be so long? What if he lives in another country!? Can they go that far..?'  Chiaki's pink eyes were engrossed on her game, but her ears were wide open. "You do seem a bit off Y/N. Are you thinking about your soulmate again?" Chiaki's soft voice rang in your ears as Ibuki held the door open for you all to the cafeteria before she trailed in afterwards. "Uh, kind of..." You admitted, Ibuki grinned ear to ear as she got in the lunch line. "Ibuki believes that Y/N will find her man! Akane found hers a week ago!"

It was true. Akane had found her soulmate, a huge buff dude named Nekomaru, who was the schools coach. She didn't even register what was happening at first until he told her and she just laughed and said 'Cool dude' and continued to eat while he face palmed. However, they really are a good match, both constantly training together. As you got your lunches and took a seat at a usual table you always sit at, Akane nodded as she quite literally stuffed her face with food. "It was so weird! At least he's hot though you know." Ibuki laughed as you dead panned, Chiaki still playing her game. As the three other girls got into a conversation you weren't even listening anymore. Your thoughts took over yet again as you day dreamed getting this anxious feeling in your stomach.

You dismissed yourself from them saying you were going to use the restroom, but you were heading to your locker to retrieve your phone charger deciding if you distracted yourself with social media, perhaps you wouldn't think so much. 'Why do I feel so odd all of a sudden?'  As you walked down the hallway you turned a corner having your head downcast as you watched the red thread with each step. You rose a brow noticing it starting to tangle for the first time before you were suddenly on your ass after bumping into someone. "Shit sorry.." You mumbled as you stood to your feet looking down to who you ran into. You knew this guy, briefly. Well, you've seen him, but never talked to him. You suddenly felt your heart began to hammer in your chest.

Gundham Tanaka. You went to ask him if he needed help up, but his mismatched eyes were wide as he was staring down near you. 'What the..?'  As you looked down where he was focused, your E/C eyes also grew wide. The red string that was attached to your pinky was very short and the end of it was tied around Gundham's pinky. 'What!? No way...?!'  There you were, five feet away from your soulmate, the scarlet threads attached to you both. Gundham was too shocked to stand or look at you as he has been searching for his significant other for many years, and you were both so close attending the same school. How did you two miss this? "You..." Gundham began as he finally grew over his shock as he slowly looked up at you, your wide eyes meeting his finally.

"I have....I have been on many treacherous journey's to find you.." He whispered, the sudden shock of finally being connected sending electric waves through your hearts and bodies. You blinked as he slowly stood up from being knocked over on the ground, his eyes landing over your form as he took in your beauty. 'I've seen him at school many times and I got this...feeling, but I always ignored it... Is this what it's like to find your soulmate?'  Looking at him, you took a small step forward, him staying still as he swallowed hard with a pink tinted face. "I have observed you from afar, your beauty breathtaking ....How have I been so blessed to have been fated with a Goddess?" He breathed making your heart swell.

"Gundham, I'm so glad it's you." You said back quietly knowing he's absolutely perfect, the vibes you were getting from him making every fiber of your being glowing with happiness. You broke the space between you two and gave him a shy yet intimate hug, his body tensing for a few seconds before he wrapped his arms around your waist burying his face into your hair. "Y/N....Let us begin the journey of our lives, my Monarch.."
