Last night I called my office and took a leave for so weeks

I booked a flights to Michigan and packed my bag

Michigan was also my home town

Mom and dad lived there and I spent most all my life there

I would've never come to New York

But all the things that happened drove me all the way to New York

I couldn't stay in the same place anymore
Knowing every where I go would be a constant reminder of how I was all alone

I called my mom and told her I was coming for a vacation to Michigan

"My baby girl is finally coming back! What bring you here?" Mama asked

I smiled, I never visited mom and dad in fact it was always the other way round

"I've sorted out my differences with Ella" I replied

I heard a squeal on the other r side of the phone, "Ah I'm so happy! I told you the truth always comes out on way or the other. What happened? How did she find out?"

I remember crying at night when all this happened

Mama would always stroke my hair and tell me, "the truth will come out one way or the other.. don't cry over something that isn't your fault"

I smiled, "I'll tell you everything once I come"

Mama laughed, "Alright darling enjoy, can't wait to see you!"

"Bye love you too" I said, ending the call

We were currently sitting in the planet waiting for the take the take off

"Remember when you said Lucas has women issues.. what's that all about?" I asked Ella

I was curious to know

Ella sighed, "He doesn't date it's a new woman everyday. He's changed so much this one time he brought a cheap hooker to our family dinner. Dad was very angry.. they didn't talk to each other for months"

"Then he became serious with a girl called Juliet. She was nice.. Juliet and Lucas were just like each other. She worked as a lawyers for another law firm.. things were finally getting better for Lucas when one of the women he hooked up with in the past cane up to his door and told him that she was pregnant with his child. Long story short Juliet heard it and left him. Turned out the woman was lying and the child wasn't his" Ella continued

"That's when things got worse he started his playboy ways again.."

Wow Lucas had definitely changed

The Lucas I knew would never turn into a playboy

"Wow that's a lot to take in" I said

Ella smiled, "You still care about him don't you?"

I looked away, "No I just wanted to know his position and why you really didn't tell him"

"Say whatever you want to" Ella said, smiling mischievously "He's back with Juliet now"

I looked at her

So he's not single

"Oh" was all I said before I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep

"Wake up! We're here" I heard someone pushing my shoulder

I opened my eyes

And took in my surroundings

Now I remembered

I was in the plane to Michigan

"Did I sleep the entire way?" I asked

Ella laughed, "After you heard about Lucas not being single you were so upset that you slept the entire way

I lightly hit Ella on the shoulder, "shut up you know I was tired"

"Oh come on! I know you too well to know you only sleep for long when you're upset"

Ignoring her I unbuckled my belt and took out my hand luggage from the upper deck

After passing out of the the customs we finally made it out of the airport.

Five years ago I came here crying because I didn't want to leave

And today I'm back

Five years without seeing the streets of Michigan and five years without seeing these faces

Oh how I missed this place

"Diane!" I saw my mum and dad waiting outside

I ran up to them

They both hugged in at the same time and I hugged them back

"Oh it's so good to see you back home" Mama said

"I knew it wouldn't be long until you come back" papa smiled

I let them go and smiled with teary eyes

"I missed this place so much" I said

"Where's Ella?" Papa asked

I friend around to see Ella standing behind me

"My emotions were at its peak that I completely forgot about her" I laughed

Papa and Mama hugged Ella, "It's so good to see you our second daughter again" Mama said

Ella smiled, "I'm so sorry for all I've put your daughter through the past five years"

Mama waved her hand in the air, "Oh please we distorts fight what matters is they find their way back"

Ella smiled, "I missed you guys"

"So did we" papa said "Now let's get you guys home you must be tired"
