KJ's POV

I fell asleep in the happiest mood I've ever been. Yesterday was a day I'd never forget, even though it wasn't a date as much as I wanted it to be.

The one part I wish never happened, was seeing Emily again.

Emily and I were friends back in New Zealand, so seeing her surprised me. She went to my school, hence how I met her.

I always suspected she liked me, and my suspicions weren't wrong when one day one of her closest friends told me so.

The only thing was that I never liked her back. Shortly after, she moved, I'm guessing here in Vancouver where mila and I were for riverdale. Either way, Emily and I wouldn't have lasted because she was moving. I did miss her though. She was my friend after all, and we had known each other since were little toddlers.

It would've been fine seeing her again, just not when I was with cami.

"Kj, is that you?" I heard Emily say. "Emily!" She ran up to me and hugged me. She looked up at me, not letting go of me, even though I had let go of her. She finally let go and eyed me up and down. I honestly felt uncomfortable standing there, her checking me out. "It's been wayyy to long, kage." "What?" I said taken back. I almost forgot. The same nickname that cami has just given me today, Emily had also given me 12 years ago. Except when cami said it I liked it better. "Uh kage what's wrong?" Emily asked worried. "Uh nothing I'm just-I haven't seen you in so long how have you been?" I said trying not to sound awkward. Emily sat down. I sat down too. I hope this is quick, I'm sure Cami was gonna be back soon.

"I've missed you ever since I left. I never forgot about you kage." Emily said grabbing my hands and intertwining it with hers. I looked at her and she smiled. I let go of her hand, pretending I had an itch. I felt guilty, I'm not sure why. I wasn't dating cami so I had no reason to be guilty, but I just was.

"So how's your family? Are they here in Vancouver or in New Zealand?" I asked not really interested. "They're here. But we're thinking about moving back to New Zealand so my dad can work with yours again." Emily answered. My dad and Emily's dad were really close. Her dad worked for mine. So when they moved it was hardest on them. Emily's family wanted to be with the rest of their family in Vancouver.

We talked until Cami finally came back. I took a look at her face and I could tell she was jealous. I felt awkward. It was tense, so tense I honestly didn't know what to do but sit there. Emily finished up with her unnecessary sentence and waved me goodbye. I smiled to her and turned back to Cami. "Well she seemed nice. Seems like she really liked this seat." Cami said annoyed. "Huh I guess" I chuckled.

The rest of the night was amazing, just the two of us. I didn't want her to go, but she had to.

I woke the next morning to a beautiful sunrise, that I hoped cami was watching too. I sat up and took a shower, and changed. I texted Cami asking her how she woke up.

mila🤪

Hey mila, how'd you wake up?

By opening my eyes. These are the basic things of a human being kj, I thought you'd know better.

Haha very funny. You know what I meant🙄😂
