Vincent and Ashlynn finally found Chris's room, recovering from their little moment out in the hall. Vincent had Ashlynn's hand tightly in grasp; like she was going to slip away.
Ashylnn took the opportunity to twist the knob to his room, Vincent didn't know whether to be happy or to rip Terrance's head off. He thought, maybe he could do both? But, he already knows that Ashlynn wouldn't allow that because she says that
"They are just children for goodness sake!"
Which is very true to be honest. He wouldn't dare to lay a hand on his kids even though he tried to a few hours ago. He instantly felt guilty when Terrance flinched covering his head with his arms like Vincent was going to actually hit him. Even though he's the reason he's in the hospital, he wouldn't lay a hand on his son no matter how many time Terrance gets on his bad side. He knows that Terrance is only a kid that would dumb stuff at least once in his life. Vincent knows that he did a-lot of even dumber stuff when he was that age
Vincent decided he was just going to have to forgive and forget. He can't hold the grudge about this any longer than he have to. Vincent and Ashlynn walked through the door softly shutting it behind them
Ashlynn smiled at how Chris and Terrance was so close to eachother. Chris was awake looking out the window not noticing that his parents was in the room. Chris looked up at Terrance's sleeping face, only to smile. But it left as quickly as it came, he looked down and grabbed Terrance's hand and squeezed it a-little. His gaze went over to see his parents still standing at the door. He looked at them for a moment before turning his gaze back to the window
"Hey Mom, Dad," He said in a low voice, barely above a whisper
"Hi sweetie," Ashlynn replied before walking over to the bed grabbing the blue plastic chair, sitting next to Chris. She grabbed his other hand tracing her thumb across his knuckles. His hand was still a-little chilly but it would warm up eventually
Vincent looked over at Terrance, his anger slowing disappearing. He noticed that he had light bags under his eyes and dried tear streaks. His eyes turned blue looking at Terrance, he knows that he can't blame him for the rest of his life. Not only he almost lost a son, but Terrance almost lost a brother. Terrance was going to take it even harder than Vincent, Terrance didn't want to push Chris away but he was pushing him away more farther than he anticipated. It was breaking the both of them - they couldn't feel it but they knew it
Vincent had a feeling that his friends convinced him and put him up to this. He wanted them stay away from Chris and Terrance because he doesn't want them to get hurt again. They put his sons in so much pain, when Terrance was around them, Terrance's eyes showed him that he wasn't proud of the things he did to his brother
Peer pressure can do a-lot to you, it can be that your friends can make you do things you didn't want to do. And putting his brother in the hospital, was the last straw. Vincent was going to make sure that those teenagers stay away from them
He promised them that
