I feel sick to my stomach. Sick from the thought that someone has my most precious gems. Or from the fact that the police are saying that they ‘are doing all they can’ when really they are doing frig all. Or maybe it’s the fact that Harry isn’t here. He isn’t here to help find Sophia and Olivia, or here to try comfort me in his stupid and idiotic yet still cute ways. And he isn’t here because of me. Because I pushed him away and forced him to go back to Cheshire.

I’m good at doing things like that. Pushing people away. I pushed Madison away to move to the other side of the world. I pushed Megan – my best friend from year nine – away, too. And now? Harry. I pushed him away once things got out of hand and when I needed him the most. I would call him, text him, anything, to let him now I’m sorry and I need him right now. But that would be selfish. He is visiting his own family and I can’t just snap my fingers and get him back when I want him.

I haven’t left the police station since yesterday’s encounter. Harry has text me multiple times asking how I’m ‘holding up’ or if they have found anything yet. But I don’t have the motivation to text him back. I pretty much just sit on the seat in the police station, only getting up to get coffee or use the bathroom, then coming straight back to resume my position, hoping that any minute now, any police officer that walks past with a folder in their hands, is a person coming to tell me that they have got my girls back.

“Is this seat taken?” A ladies voice says from behind me. I lift my head from the canteen table and slowly turn around to see a young lady dressed in skinny jeans, a plain white top and a navy blazer. I shake my head in response to her cheery tone and she sits down in the seat across from me, opening the container to her sandwich.

“Saddie” She says, extending her hand out to me, and I shake it lightly before replying.

“Cassie” I say, taking a small sip of the just-about-warm coffee. I got it when I entered the canteen about twenty minutes ago, so obviously the warm and relaxment that is usually in it has vanished. For me now though, every cup of coffee I drink, there is nothing there except for some brown liquid burning my throat.

“What are you here for?” Saddie asks casually, taking a bit out of the sandwich she bought.

“Missing kids.” I reply with absolutely no kind of emotion in my voice whenever I deliver those two words to the happy girl across from me. Wish I could be happy like her; cuddled up to Harry under a big blanket while the girls stuff their faces with sweet foods and watch a Christmas movie. At home. Not here. If we never came here, Sophia and Olivia wouldn’t have gone missing and I wouldn’t have pushed Harry away, and Lord only knows when I’ll get to see him or the girls again.

“aah shit” she cringed. “I’m sorry to hear that, Cassie” She finishes. I shake my head in a ‘not your fault’ kind of way and ask her why she is in here, just like she asked me. Turns out her husband is in here for a crime he didn’t commit. And she is currently waiting on the visiting hours to start, which should be any minute now.

“Well, I better go. I would say see you round, but I hope I don’t. Means you’ve got your kids. Which you will.” She assures me, wrapping me in a friendly hug. I thank her and she walks off towards the direction to see her loved one, who she must be missing terribly.

“Ma’m.. Ma’m we have some news for you.” A male voice calls out while shaking my sleeping body in hopes to wake me up. In which it works.

My body instantly form a proper sitting position in the chair, taking over the slouching frame I formed only a matter of hours ago while my eyes closed into a dreamless sleep.

“We have found Sophia and Olivia.”

“Wh-Where are they?” I manage to choke out. The excitement and happiness, but yet still fear are all taking turns rushing through my body. The thought that maybe I will see them again and the thought in my head that I couldn’t is slowly being pushed aside as I think of them, together here in my arms, safe.

“A few officers are on their way here now with them.” The man replies. Once I nod he walks of and sits down at the front desk like he was before he told me the news. I found a single tear run down my worn out cheek as I heard the tiny voices in my head that I have been waiting so long to hear again. It has been four days since they went missing, but to me, it seemed like forever.

“Aunt Cassie” I hear. Smiling, I think it is just one of the voices in my head again, recalling the many times of me being called Aunt Cassie. But, then I feel a tug on my jumper sleeve, and once I look down I see, Sophia and Olivia standing there, smiles on there faces.

But THEY HAVE FOUND THE GIRLS. Yaaay:3

I needed to cut it off there or the other chapter would be an absolute waste of time.

and in case any of you are wondering what Sophia and Olivia look like, I was thinking Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen from when they were younger?:-)
