Years and minutes fly by and we don't even notice.

But years and minutes passing by when you're alone, that's a different story.

A few of you said that you wanted Keith to stay in his apartment, instead of face his broken heart that we know too well?

Alright.

Sure, Keith's string was being persistent as usual, clawing at the door and pulling vigorously at his finger; leaving a purple and blue mark. But there was nothing he wanted to do about it, nothing he necessarily could either.

Because even though he wanted some sort of love, there was no way that he'd even consider it at this moment in his life. It was at somewhat a high moment, he would be graduating soon; leaving his town for a life somewhere else.

His dream was to open a music company, so why not do it somewhere else, away from his past?

An hour or two passes, and Keith is still standing in front of his door, his head resting on the white wood while his string continues to pull. He had spent the quiet time with his mind, deciding whether to do this one thing that would change his life forever.

Cut his string, or just let it be?

Whatever was going on with the red yarn, it didn't really matter to him now that he thought about it. It was a daily struggle, in all honesty. Wondering what it'd be like to sleep in the same bed with his significant other; but not all strings worked that way. Sometimes it was about finding a best friend, or a broken relationship.

Keith runs a hand through his black locks. He was still leaning on his door, only a pair of boxers keeping him from being completely naked. He takes a deep breath, and steps away from the door.

It was all about freedom now.

If he cut his string, would the loneliness go away?

And if he left his string, would it stay, and continue to grow and fester into something much worse?

"Okay.. Yolo Keith. That's what everyone says at school right?" He mumbles to himself, his voice still raspy due to being silent for the majority of being awake.

The College student walks into his small kitchen, and pulls out a pair of scissors from the junk drawer which is also filled with other miscellaneous things. "Count to three."

"One,"

He brings the scissors closer to his string.

"Two,"

He places the string against the cold metal.

"Three,"

He cuts the string in a swift movement.

And in that moment, as the string drops to the floor; disappearing upon contact; a small smile makes its way onto his face. All of the doubt that held him back before, and the band-aids he placed on his heart went away too--because now, he didn't need them.

Five Years Later.

Now Keith was one of the proud CEO's of the biggest music company to ever hit New York. He was at the top of the list, and having his friend, Allura there as the other CEO just made the experience even better.

The two of them, even if it took five years are hard work and hardships, were finally there. Two people who both cut their strings in their college years.

However they weren't interested in each other.

Keith had a boyfriend, and Allura was trying to get her own girlfriend.

It wasn't just the two of them in their group however. Over the long time span, a few others joined in. Hunk had repaired his and Keith's severed ties, so him and his soulmate were there within seconds; Hawaii just wasn't the place for them.

Then soon after, Hunk's friend Lance joined in with his boyfriend—Shiro.

Keith and Lance hit it off the moment they met each other, for the second time that is.

But after fifteen years, the two didn't really remember each other from their school years.

Keith sits at his desk in his large office, the window behind him practically lighting up the whole space. Other than the many papers in front of him, a few polaroids are spread out amongst his desk; from the day prior—because Lance decided he just needed a new camera.

The thought made Keith chuckle.

It was odd to him, that he and this brunette with the prettiest eyes hit it off so well; but the truth is, he didn't care that much. As long as the two of them could hang out, it was fine.

There's a knock at the door, and within seconds a group of people are shuffling into the space. Shiro and Lucas, Keith's boyfriend, are holding bags of food. While Katie, Lance, and Allura are all talking amongst each other.

A minute after that, Allura's girlfriend, Shae steps in, her shy exterior making her significant other melt.

"It's not even noon yet and you're already bringing me lunch, what's this about?" Keith asks with a small smile. He makes eye contact with his boyfriend, and can almost feel his ears burn up at the sight. "It was my idea," Lance speaks up, "Lukas said you don't eat breakfast. So why not have a brunch? But with less breakfast food."

So that's exactly what they did.

"This is so fucking delicious," Keith coos as he stuffs a french fry in his mouth. "It's from your favorite place so it better be." His boyfriend says as he leans his head on his shoulder. "You know me—"

"Actually, it was Lance's idea to get food from there."

And Keith grows quieter.

It was as if this used to be stranger knew every single detail about him without even realizing it.

Just a few days before, Keith received an invitation to go to the zoo with Lance, and the first place they went to was the area with hippos. Which happened to be Keith's favorite animal, a little thing that he never thought about telling his friend.

"Seems like you can read my mind." A smirk finds its way into Keith's lips as he places his food down, "I can read everyone's minds." Lance responds, crossing his arms over his chest in a cocky manner. "I call bullshit." The black haired male says back, but the brunette doesn't give up.

"Katie is thinking about Hunk, Allura is thinking about how adorable Shae is—and you're thinking about..me.."

And the room grows silent again.

"I call bullshit. Bullshit. Bullshit. Bullshit." Keith repeats himself, just to fill the quiet.

It was odd, to have someone be able to know every single detail about him without using words.

It really was bullshit right. Lance couldn't of—

No way.
