[ For the oneshots sake, the Lions are gonna be a little more decked out :P ]
As most of you know, you could read through my blatant lie in the authors notes of the Detention AU-
So I won't lie to you anymore,
probably.
This request is going to be...
scarring?

Everything happens for a reason.
At least, that is what I was told as a child.
My mother said to me every night before I went to bed, that fate would find its way to me.
And marvelous things would come from it.
I thought that was the case the day I found the blue lion in that cave.
Turns out,
I was so..
so wrong..

Lance slowly perches his gun on his shoulder, resting the side of it against his cheek as he takes a deep breath to calm himself down. The stakes were unbelievably high during this mission that Lotor gave them. And it didn't help that it was only the brunette that was sent out, everyone, even Keith who was on his own mission said that he was the right one for the job.
The objective was to secure one of the smallest and hidden away Galra bases, so that the information kept there could be used for the coalition.
It seemed simple when Lotor explained it to the paladin, however, when he first arrived- he felt a rush of fear go through his bloodstream.
For such a small base, there were dozens of troops stationed everywhere.
It took Lance an hour or two to find a way in, and even then he took the time to set up to begin shooting. He'd of course secured a way out, just in case he'd have to use his sword to make a quick get away.
If things went wrong, he had a backup plan of calling Keith.
Well- really, it was the smaller male who came up with the plan to begin with. Lance mindlessly agreed, his ego keeping him from thinking the worst of the situation.
He never expected the weak troopers to fight back.
The brunette brings the scope closer to his eye, zooming from one silver head to another. In the room he was in, there were at least twenty-seven of the galra fighters, a few of them not being made out of gears and steel. That made Lance nervous. Sure, it was his job to eliminate the enemy as quickly as possible, but it was different when the victim had a mind of their own.
Maybe they have a family, and Lance is simply taking them away from that.
"Shit- you can't think about that Lance." He whispers while slapping himself, trying to focus his vision once more through the scope.
