After the Doctor, Rose, and I had eaten and got back to the TARDIS the Doctor had told Rose to go and find her room. I was going to head to the library when the Doctor grabbed my arm stopping me.
"Yes?" I ask, looking at him questioningly.
"We need to talk," he says firmly and sits me on the jump-seat.
"Ok... what about?" I ask, pulling my legs underneath me as he sits next to me.
"How you reacted to Jabe questioning our relationship," he says and I immediately tense. "I've never seen you look so frightened before, even when you met a Dalek for the first time... Eva, what happened to you while I was away?" he asks hesitantly.
"A lot..." I mutter, looking away and wincing at the memories of the time after my sixth year.
The Doctor grabs my chin gently and forces me to look at him: "Eva, you can tell me anything, you know that, right?" he asks, running his thumb along my jaw.
"Yeah," I nod, taking his hand from me and holding it in mine.
I take a deep breath and slide my jacket off, making the Doctor frown, but I just hold up a hand to stop him. I wasn't going to tell him everything, but I could show him my scars. I hold my arms out, forearms up, to the Doctor and his eyes widen when he sees the words carved into my skin. He reaches over and strokes my arm with his fingertips and I flinch slightly before relaxing under his gentle touch.
"Bellatrix Lestrange had a great time making these," I whisper, pulling my arms to my chest protectively, not meeting the Doctor's shocked eyes. "She used a cursed knife... so they won't go away with regeneration," I tell him.
"I'll kill her," the Doctor says darkly.
"No need," I shake my head. "Mrs. Weasley took care of her after she murdered Fred and almost murdered Ginny," I mutter.
"Eva... I'm sorry," the Doctor whispers, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me to him. "I should have been there for you... I'm so sorry," he mutters, stroking my hair.
I wrap my arms around his waist and bury my face against his neck as tears stream down my face silently.
"That's not everything, is it?" the Doctor asks, laying his cheek on top of my head and I shake my head. "Tell me when you're ready," he murmurs as he continues to stroke my hair and I nod.
I don't know how long the two of sat there, the Doctor just holding me as I cried silently. But I eventually got up, put my jacket back on, and went to go and try to find Rose. I wanted to know more about my new friend. I found a door with a single rose on it and smile, shaking my head: "very subtle, old girl," I smile, running my hand along the wood and giggling when she hums indignantly.
I knock on the door and Rose opens it with a big smile on her face: "this is amazing!" she beams, grabbing my hand and pulling me into her room.
I look around her room and was surprised to see so much pink. The walls were light pink with a mural of stars on the wall to my right. There was a queen sized poster-bed with white sheer curtains. The covers were pink with blue, green, and purple pillows. To my left were bean bags in the same color as the pillows and the floor was dark hardwood with a white rug at the end of the bed.
"Very cute," I nod appreciatively at the room and the TARDIS hums, pleased with herself.
"It's so beautiful!" Rose squeals, flopping down on her bed. "So, what did you want?" she asks, sitting up and looking at me.
"Well, since we're going to be traveling together, I thought we could get to know each other," I smile, sitting beside her and pulling my legs underneath me.
