L's Video (Depressed L)

(A/N): Okay, this will be a little depressing so if you don't wanna see that, feel free to skip this story.

L's Pov

It was really late and everyone had gone to bed. Even (Y/N), who normally stayed awake like I did.

It was about time that I did what I should.

I waited to make sure no one could hear me and that no one was watching me. I grabbed my cell phone and went to the video camera.

"Greetings to all of you" I say to my phone. "Now, I know it is very unusual for me to record myself, but there is something I must tell you..."

(Y/N)'s Pov

'Well, I still can't sleep' I thought to myself rolling across my bed and trying to get comfortable.

"I guess I'm turning into an insomniac" I giggle to myself.

"I wonder how Ryuzaki is getting on with the case" I say, getting up.

"I'll go and check on him and see if he needs any help."

I walked out of my room and down the halls of the taskforce. As I got further to the stairs, I could hear L talking to someone. Weird. There's no one else in the room. Everyone's gone to bed.

The words I heard next shocked me...

"I will end my life right here and now. Thank you all for being a part of my life. And (Y/N), I never got the chance to tell you, but I...I love you."

"What...the HELL?!" I shout, running as fast as I could down the remaining part of the hallway and down the stairs.

I found L sitting there with a gun to his head, tears streaming down his face! I had never seen L cry and it wasn't a good sight at all! Especially when he had a gun to his head!

"NOOOO!!! STOP!!!!" I yelled as loud as I could and leapt at L, tackling him down to the ground and knocking the gun out of his hand before he could fire.

I hugged the living daylights out of L! I refused to let him go! I started crying my eyeballs out too!

"WHAT THE HELL?!" I yell at him through sobs. "WHY WOULD YOU EVEN ATTEMPT SOMETHING LIKE THAT?!!!"

L sat up causing me to fall off him. He was still crying.

"I...I just can't do this anymore, (Y/N)..." he said looking at the ground.

"SO YOU'RE GONNA END IT HERE?!" I screamed at him. That was all I could do at this moment. I can't let him die! I WON'T let him die!

L turned his head to the side.

"How can I live my life, knowing that people have died because I did something stupid?!" He shouted.

"What are you talking about?" I ask him.

"(Y/N), on almost every case I've worked on, someone has gotten killed because I had done something wrong or made a wrong move. I don't want that happening again! I don't want to lose the lives of anyone at the taskforce. I don't want to lose you, (Y/N)!" He looked up, staring me right in the eyes.

I didn't know how to react to what he just said.

I hugged him tightly again and sobbed into his shirt.

"It's alright, (Y/N)" L said stroking my hair.

I broke the hug.

"NO!! NO IT'S NOT ALRIGHT!!!" I yell at him.

He looked really frightened by me yelling at him, but I had no other choice!

"EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES!! AND I KNOW YOU DIDN'T MEAN TO GET THOSE PEOPLE KILLED!!!"

"But (Y/N)-"

"No! You are the world's greatest detective and everyone knows you have to make very difficult decisions! Think of how many people you have saved because you made the right ones! You have done so much for the world, and if it weren't for you, the world would be VERY different!"

I grabbed his hands and held them tightly.

"You saved the whole world by stopping those Blue Ship guys from using that virus, remember?" I gave him a small smile.

(A/N): If you don't know, that was from the novel/movie L Change The World. Go read/watch it if you haven't cause it's AMAZING!!!

"That's right..." he said.

"See?" I said. "One man has changed the world! If it weren't for you, we probably would have never met each other!"

L looked straight at me and gave me a smile.

"That's right...And I'm so glad I met you, (Y/N)" he said.

I smiled back at him.

"Never attempt to do something like that again, L!!" I say giving him a serious look. "No one said your job as the world's greatest detective was gonna be easy, but stay alive to help people like we know you do! Stay alive for me!"

He nodded slowly, wiping his tears away. And before I could say anything, he grabbed me and pulled me into a tight hug.

"Thank you (Y/N)..." he whispered. "It's people like you who give me the strength to stay alive."

"I'm so glad..." I whisper back.
I turned around and kissed L. He quickly kissed back. I knew he wanted to share a kiss with me.

"I love you L! Don't ever forget that", I say.

"I love you too (Y/N)" L says smiling.

L's Pov

She is so right. I have to stay alive for her sake. I might be haunted by my past failures, but (Y/N) has reminded me that my future is shining bright. She's given me strength and I should be more grateful for that. I have to stay strong for (Y/N).

And with that, we gave each other another hug.

Forgetting that the phone was still recording...
