(Death Note) - L X Reader Oneshots!

I missed you

(Y/N)'s Pov

"When is he coming back again?" I ask, staring out the window of my room in Wammy's House.

"Tomorrow (Y/N). You just have to wait", Near said to me, as he began to take apart his jigsaw puzzle and redo it.

"I really miss him", I say quietly, making my way next to Near and sitting next to him.

"I know you do. We all do (Y/N), but you just have to be patient and wait for him to get back", Near said, not looking at me.

I sigh.
L had been away working on a really important case, and he couldn't take me with him. I was stuck in Wammy's House. He had been away for about 6 months now and I really missed him!

"It's getting late now. You should get some rest (Y/N)", Near said, placing the last jigsaw piece in place and standing up.

"Oh. Right", I say, looking at the floor.

"Cheer up. You'll reunite with L tomorrow, I promise you".

And with that, Near left my room.

I was alone again.

I couldn't sleep. I wasn't going to! I was going to wait for L! Who knew what time he would come back at!

I stared out the window at the starry sky.

"I miss you L! Please come back soon!" I whisper.

I soon feel my eyes getting heavy.

No (Y/N)! Stay awake!

Too late. I had fallen asleep resting on the windowsill!

Near's Pov

I came back in to check on (Y/N) to see if she was asleep yet.

I found her asleep, with her arms and head resting on the windowsill.

I sigh and shake my head.

"You'll catch a cold", I whisper, as I gently lift (Y/N) up and carry her over to her bed.

I lay her down and bring the covers over her.

"L..." She muttered in her sleep.

"Don't worry I said! He'll be back in the morning!" I say, slowly smiling.

I make my way to the door and look back at (Y/N).

"Get some rest", I say to her as I left.

Next Morning

(Y/N)'s Pov

I woke up to kids screaming and running around outside my room.

I found myself in my bed.

'I must've been sleep walking' I thought, as I quickly kick my covers off and head out my room to check what was going on.

"He's here!" I heard a kid shout, as he ran out the door.

My eyes then lit up!

L was coming home today!

He's here now!!

I bolted out of my room and out the door of Wammy's House.

I saw a car had pulled in and an elderly man walk out.

"WATARI!!!" The children screamed, and so did I! (I was older than the children).

"It's good to see you children. You two (Y/N)", Watari said, looking at the children surrounding him and then at me. I gave him a warm smile and waved at him.

"Someone else is here to see you too!" Watari said as the children jumped up and down in excitement. I got really excited too and possibly butterflies in my stomach!

"You ready to meet him again (Y/N)?" Near asked as he approached me and started twirling his hair.

I nodded.

"I'm really excited!" I say back to him.

"Yeah, us too!" Mello said as him and Matt came over to join Near and I.

Near just nodded back.

Soon, the car door opened.

And out came L!

"L!!" The children freaked out and ran to hug him.

"Hello everyone", L said, as he kneeled down so he was the same height as the kids.

The kids were asking L many questions about his case, he was struggling to answer them all at once.

"L!!" Mello, Matt, Near and myself ran over to him. L stood up to look at us.

"Hello you three", he said as the three boys hugged him tightly and he hugged back. "It's good to see you again".

"I beat your highest score on Mario Kart!!" Matt said to L.

"Really? You're getting better at that game", L replied. "I'll soon beat you again".

"We'll see about that!" Matt said.

The three boys broke the hug and laughed as L smiled at them, soon looking up to face me.

"Hello (Y/N)", L said to me.

I almost crushed him as I ran and wrapped my arms around him giving him a huge hug!

"I missed you so much!" I shout.

"I missed you too (Y/N)", L hugged me back. "I did want to bring you with me on this case, but you know I couldn't".

I broke the hug and nodded at him, tears forming in my eyes. I covered my mouth as the tears started streaming down my face.

"Oh, please don't cry (Y/N)", L wiped away my tears with his sleeve and looked me in the eyes.

"It's just...it's just been a long 6 months!" I sob.

"I know it has. But not once did I ever stop thinking about you (Y/N), or anyone else".

I smile at him through my tears as we both lean in for a kiss. I wrapped my arms around L's neck as he wrapped his around my waist.

We broke away as Mello gave out the wolf whistle. I turn to glare at him as he just laughed and gave Matt a high five.

"Now, I would love to answer everyone's questions, but let's go inside first. I could really go for a cup off coffee and a cake", L said, holding my hand and walking back into Wammy's House. All the children followed.

"I really missed you L", I whisper to him.

"I know. And I missed you too. I promise not to leave on such short notice again, and I promise to call you as well, the next time I go for another case".

I hug L again. It was so good to have him back again!
