Rainy Days (short)

(A/N): Sorry this is short! I'll get a longer one done for you soon!

(Y/N)'s Pov

It was raining pretty badly outside. I could hear the rain pelting off the roof. I, myself, had a bad feeling that we were gonna get a leak in the taskforce building.

Before I knew it, we did have a leak. It wasn't a bad one though but I wasn't listening to the rain go 'plop' every millisecond! So I decided to go and get a bucket.

As I walked upstairs to grab a bucket, I realised something. L wasn't here.

'That's weird' I thought to myself. 'Where would he be?'

I went down the hall. 'Maybe he's with Watari!' I thought.

I walked into the room Watari is usually in. Watari turns around to look at me.

"(Y/N), what's wrong?" He asks me.

"Nothing. I was just wondering where Ryuzaki is", I say.

"He's on the roof, but I wouldn't distu-"

I cut him off by grabbing an umbrella and running up more stairs to the roof. Screw the elevator!

I finally reached the roof, my legs in a lot of pain, but I didn't stop running until I saw Ryuzaki standing there in the freezing cold!

"What are you doing Ryuzaki?!" I shout to him.

It looked like he couldn't hear me, so I walked over to him, and held the umbrella above his head.

L was surprised that he couldn't feel anymore rain on his hair, and turned around to face me.

"You'll catch a cold", I told him.

"I'll be okay", he replied and turned away from me.

"Can't have you working on a case if you catch a cold", I say, smirking.

"What about you then?" L asked.

"I already have a cold", I say giggling.
"Now come on! Let's go back inside! It's cold!"

"Can't you hear them? The bells?" L asked, looking up at the grey sky and pushing the umbrella away from his face.

I looked up, then back at L. "I don't hear anything."

"I see", he replied and looked at his feet.

"Why are you up here anyway? Is something bothering you?" I asked, looking worried.

"I wonder if any of Kira's victims has a funeral today", L said to me.

It didn't take long for me to catch onto what he was talking about. I walked up to L, grabbed his hand and squeezed it tightly. I put the umbrella above his head again.

He flinched and turned to me.
"What are you doing (Y/N)?" He asked.

"I understand you feel guilty about not being able to save the people that Kira has killed, but there was nothing you could have done!"

I looked up at him with tears in my eyes.

"Don't blame yourself! It's not your fault!"

I started to cry. L hesitated a bit, but he squeezed my hand back. I gasped and looked back at L.

L put his other hand on my shoulder and looked straight into my eyes.

"Please don't cry (Y/N). I understand. Thank you".

I blushed a little bit.

Soon enough, L brought me into a small hug.

"You are always trying so hard to make me feel better. I should be more grateful. Thank you", he said.

I smiled at his words.

"Let's go back inside. We're both drenched", L said.

"Yeah", I giggled as we turned around to walk back. "By the way, we have a leak in the taskforce".

"Fantastic", L said sarcastically.
