How does someone love?

(A/N): STILL can't make a good title!

L's Pov

(Y/N).

She's such an extraordinary person.

I don't know why, but I seem to feel very different when I'm around her, compared to when I'm around the other members of the taskforce.

Is this because of Kira? Is (Y/N) the new Kira?

I don't think that's the case. (Y/N)'s not suspicious at all. All my suspicions point to Light Yagami and Misa Amane being Kira and the second Kira.

So what is this feeling then?

I only seem to feel it when I'm around (Y/N). No one else. I don't think she is being controlled by Kira. That can't be it. She would be dead by now, if that were the case.

Why does my heart beat so fast when I'm close to her? Why do I feel my cheeks heat up when I see her smile?

I've never felt like this towards a person before. I need to know what it is though.
It's distracting me from my work.

It was just a regular day for us in the taskforce. (Y/N) had went shopping with Misa for the day, but we had wiretaps on them to listen to their conversations. At least I won't really be distracted by (Y/N) during my work.

But...

I kind of missed her. I don't know why, because I see (Y/N) everyday as it is!

So why do I feel like this?!

I turned to Light who looked distracted by something.

"Hey, Light" I called to him.

He flinched. "What is it Ryuzaki?"

"I need to ask you an important question" I began.

He seemed surprised. "Oh okay. Go ahead."

"Well, I don't want to take up your time so I'll just get right to it. It's about (Y/N)."

Light nodded. "I see. You have a crush on her, don't you?" He started laughing.

I tilted my head in confusion. "I'm afraid I don't understand. What is a 'crush'?"

Light stopped laughing and looked straight at me. He looked rather shocked. "WHAT?! You don't know what a crush is?!"

I shook my head.

Light sighed. "A crush is when you feel very differently towards a certain person. For example, if you have a crush on (Y/N), you show affection, passion and love towards her."

I still didn't quite understand what he was talking about.
"And what do you mean by those words?" I ask.

"Wow! You're the world's greatest detective but you're useless when it comes to emotions and feelings." Light laughed.

"I get that a lot" I say looking at my feet.

"Look" Light said. "Those words pretty much mean that you really like her and you show a great interest in her personality. So, do you?"

"Well, I do really like (Y/N), and she is a very interesting person-"

"And do you think she's pretty?" Light cut me off.

"She is very beautiful",I say.

"Do you wanna hug (Y/N) and kiss her?" Light asked.

This isn't an interrogation!

"I wanna hug her, but-"

"You don't wanna kiss her? You don't wanna press your lips against hers?" Light asked laughing a bit.

"That's what kissing is?" I asked.

Light nodded and showed me a photo of him kissing Misa. I understood now.

"That looks like fun" I say, putting my thumb to my lip.

"That settles it then!" Light says. "You have a crush on (Y/N)!"

"I guess so" I replied.

"You have to tell her when she comes back" Light said.

"What will she say?" I ask, looking at him.

"You just gotta wait and see" he replied, giving me a smirk.

What's he planning?

Not long after, I heard the doors of the taskforce open, and I looked over my shoulder to see (Y/N) and Misa come in.

"That was awesome!" Misa said.

"Thanks for taking me shopping today Misa. I needed out of this place for a bit" (Y/N) said and started giggling.

I felt my cheeks heat up at the sound of her laugh.

"No problem!" Misa said walking over to Light and sitting on his lap.

"This is your chance Ryuzaki" Light whispered to me. "Tell (Y/N) how you really feel about her."

"Alright..." I got up and walked over to (Y/N).

"(Y/N), can I talk to you in private? It has to be just the two of us, and it has to be away from the Kira case" I say, causing everyone to look at us.

I could see (Y/N)'s cheeks go slightly red.

She nodded. "Sure!"

She followed me upstairs.

"Am I being fired?" She asked me looking upset. "Am I being moved to a different case?"

"No, that's not it at all" I said. "It's something completely different."

"Huh?" (Y/N) looked surprised.

I hesitated a bit before grabbing (Y/N)'s arms and pressed my lips against hers.

It didn't last long. I pulled away and stared at her.

(Y/N) was blushing like crazy. I felt my cheeks heat up more and I put a hand to my mouth and whispered to her.

"Did I...do that correctly?"

She couldn't reply to my question. She tried to say something but no sentence came out of her mouth.

"I...uh...um" she staggered.

"Well, did I do it right?" I said.

(Y/N) smiled and nodded.

"Yes! You did!" She giggled nervously, causing me to blush even more.

"I'm glad. I don't know how to kiss, so I'm glad I did it right" I say, giving her a small smile.

"But why did you decide to do that all of a sudden?" She asked.

"Well, for a while now, I've grown to really like you, (Y/N). And I've taken an interest in your personality and you are a very beautiful person" I replied causing her to become a blushing mess.

"You really feel that way about me?" (Y/N) asked me.

"Yes" I say to her.

She smiled a big smile and hugged me tightly. I was quite surprised but I hugged her back. She turned her head and gave me a quick kiss. I blushed even more when she did that.

"That's great Ryuzaki, cause I feel the same way about you!" (Y/N) replied, giggling. She was still hugging me.

"Y-You do?!" I said.

She nodded.

"Well, I'm glad (Y/N)" I say.

"I'll be sure to teach you all about how to love, Ryuzaki!" (Y/N) said, finally letting me go. She grabbed my hand and led me back down the stairs.

Love? That's what this feeling is? I have to say, I like this feeling.
