Jealousy

(Y/N)'s Pov

"Thanks a lot Light! I think I've got it!" I say to the brunette, giving him a smile.

Light was helping me file reports as I had so much to do and I couldn't really do it on my own.

"That's alright (Y/N)", Light says, giving me a smile back. "You think you're ready to do a few on your own?"

"Yeah, I think so", I say to him. "Thanks aga-"

"Back to work Light. Let (Y/N) do her own work now", I hear L say, giving Light what looks like a death glare! "You can't let yourself get distracted. If (Y/N) needs help, she can ask me".

Light hesitated and turned back to his own computer to do his own work.

I turn my head to face L.

"He was only trying to help", I say to L, softly.

"He has work to do, just like you and me", L says, not taking his eyes off his computer.

'What's with him?' I thought. 'He's been acting like this for a while now. And it's always when I'm around Light!'

'Oh my god! Is L jealous?' I thought. My eyes widened.

"Are you alright (Y/N)?" L asks me.

I was snapped out of my thoughts.
"Huh! Oh yeah! I'm okay!" I say to him, giving him a smile.

"Good", L says, smiling back.

-Time Skip To Next Day-

L's Pov

I hear the doors of the taskforce open as (Y/N) comes in.

"Good morning!" She says in a bubbly tone, waving to everyone.

"Good morning (Y/N)!" I hear Light reply to her. He gave her a bunch of papers. "I filed the rest of your reports for you when you left. Here you go".

'What is he planning', I think to myself.

"Wow! Thanks a lot Light!" (Y/N) says, giving Light a huge smile. "Why would you do that for me though?"

"Because you're my friend (Y/N)", Light says.

"How could I ever thank you?!" (Y/N) asks him.

Light stood up from his seat...

I did NOT like where this was going.
I had to stop this!

Light went to hug (Y/N), before I jumped inbetween the two of them and pushed Light away from (Y/N).

"What do you think you're doing?! Back to work Light!" I glared at him.

"Cool it Ryuzaki! I wasn't doing anything wrong!" Light says.

"Back off!" I yell at him.

"Why are you like this? This happens whenever I even talk to (Y/N)!" Light walks closer to me, giving me a death glare.

He's gonna start something!

"Guys! Calm down! This isn't the time for fighting!" (Y/N) shouts at us. We both ignore her.

"I'm asking you to back off and get back to work!" I yell at Light.

"You're jealous aren't you?" Light asks, giving me an evil smirk.

That was it!

I turn myself around and kick Light right in the jaw, causing him to fall into the table.

"Back. To. Work!" I say, glaring at him even more.

"Alright!" Light glares back at me before, picking his seat up that was knocked on the floor, sitting down and working again.

I turn to (Y/N) and take the reports from her and place them on the table.
I then take (Y/N)'s hand and take her away from Light and the others, so we were on our own.

"Did Light do anything to you? Did he try to hurt you?" I ask, giving (Y/N) a serious, but concerned look.

She giggled at me.

"No! Of course not!"

She soon stopped giggling and looked at me.

"Why are you acting this way Ryuzaki?" She asked me.

"I just don't want you getting hurt. That's all. I suspect that Light is Kira".

"But judging from your actions, you seem so protective towards me. You are jealous, aren't you?" She smirks at me and sticks her tongue out.

"I'm not jealous", I say, looking away from her.

"You so are!" (Y/N) says, poking my cheek.

"I'm not!"

(Y/N)'s Pov

There was no denying it! He was jealous, he just didn't want to admit it.
So me, being the tease I was, had a trick up my sleeve.

"Oh, well that's good then!" I say.

I shout for Light.

"What are you doing (Y/N)?" L asks me, giving me a serious look.

Light comes towards us.

"What is it (Y/N)?" He asks, giving me a small smile.

"I never got to say thank you for your help", I say to him.

I go over to Light and hug him. From the corner of my eye, I could see L watching in shock.

Light was shocked at me suddenly hugging him, but quickly relaxed and was about to hug me back, when L quickly grabbed me and pulled me close to his chest.

"I don't want you touching her!" L says to Light, giving him another death glare.

"Sorry Light", I say to him. "You can leave now", I give him a smile.

Light looked at me confused, then glared at L, before turning around and walking away.

"That proves it!" I say to L, getting out of his grasp. "You are jealous!" I start giggling.

L looks away. "Okay, maybe I am a little bit".

Was he blushing?! Cute!

"I'm sorry (Y/-"

I cut him off by kissing his nose.

"Don't be sorry. It's actually kinda cute!" I say, giggling again.

L puts his hand on his nose, and blushes more.

"Don't worry. I'm only being nice to Light, to get close to him and find out if he's Kira. It's all part of the investigation!" I give L a reassuring smile. "I don't really like him, honest!"

"Good", L says, as he pulls me into a tight hug. "I don't want you getting hurt (Y/N)".

"I won't Ryuzaki! I have you to protect me!" I giggle, remembering what L had just done earlier.

L looked away. "Yes", was all he could say. He looked very flustered which made him look really cute!

I give him a quick peck on the lips and start to head back to the taskforce.

"Come on! Let's get back to work!" I say, smiling at him.

I saw L looking at the floor, moving his fingers around his mouth. I could only laugh even more at the blushing mess he had become.

I grabbed his arm and pulled him back to HQ.
