~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My heart still aches of losing one of our friends, my ex-student, Lindsey Farris. She's a bit older than me and I am her first mentor who taught her hand-to-hand combat.
Lindsey is like a sister figure to me and always listen to my problems. Now that she is gone, when is the pain ends? Every time when we face this dangerous missions, we either survive or sacrifice ourselves for the sake of the mission. How long am I going to stay in the IMF? I am done with them.~ Novilene Cruz
She's The One
Novilene sighs heavily while staring at the night clouds, standing outside of her balcony in deep thoughts. How many Agents died when they join IMF? How many are they willing to sacrifice their elite Agents, just to make the mission success? There are many questions with no answers and she hated it so much. She knows that Ethan is trying his best just to make her free from them. However, the Government doesn't want her to disappear especially she's one of the best Agent. It is her fault in the first place to join the IMF without hesitation at the very young age. She's not an invisible person who can take down her enemies in a blink of an eye. Novilene is just a young woman, wanting to get revenge and have justice for her loved ones.
"Why does the world has to be so cruel?" She whispered and watching the full moon with her sad expression. "When is the pain ever going to disappear?"
Knock!
Knock!
Novilene stands up and went to the door seeing Ethan smiling at her with a sympathy look. She sent her grandmother back to the Philippines fearing that her life might be in danger because of their work. Ethan get inside of his stepsister's room and seeing her eyes are filled with sorrow and pain of losing another member of their team.
"Come here..." Ethan engulfs her into his arms as Novilene cried more blaming herself for not saving Lindsey on time. "It wasn't your fault, Nov."
"I feel like it was my fault... if only I studied more about the explosives,  I would've saved her by now." She whispered sadly and Ethan gripped her gently.
It hurts him seeing his sister is filled with sadness about losing someone close to her again. Ethan could tell she's almost tearing herself apart even Spencer and the other BAU noticed her strange behavior. Novilene continued sobbing more into his arms as he continues to comfort her. Julia didn't know that they worked IMF and would be best to keep her into dark secret.
It is selfish for Ethan for not saying truthfully to his fiancée but he doesn't want her to be in danger. He almost put Alex in danger if it wasn't Novilene risking her life to protect their brother.
"Lindsey, know the risks and she didn't blame you for her death." Ethan grasp her face to stared at her with a serious expression. "Listen to me, don't blame yourself of their deaths okay? They know the risks and we always remember them, here, in our heart."
"Since when did you become my Therapist? Doctor Hunt?" She decided to make fun of her brother which he returned with a smirk on his face.
"The moment we met each other and I vow myself, to watch over my sister." Kissing her forehead and caressing her cheeks. "Go to sleep, you have to attend funeral tomorrow. Julia knows that I'll be sleeping in your house tonight."
"Thanks E, for everything."
"You're always welcome, Nov."
