Chapter 27 Psychodrama (Episode 4)

It's been a long time that I met Lia Snow. She's more sharper than before. It caught me off guard that Lia knows I'm hiding something. Lia didn't push it anymore to spill any secrets to her. Instead, she respects my decision and waiting at the right time to tell her.

I feel guilty of not telling her but this is for her own good. I don't want her to get involved of my problem especially there is someone is going to capture me soon. Someone wanting to know where Alayna Gibbs is together with the microchip.

She's The One

Novilene sighs in satisfaction of her finished product. She bakes a cake for her grandmother since tomorrow is her birthday. Maricar wanted to have a simple dinner birthday party here rather than going out. Of course, Novilene respects her wishes and she's going to cook all the food by herself.

"Hey, sis!" Kevin greeted her and looked surprised at seeing the cake. "Wow, what flavor is the cake?" He asks her curiously and just got back from school.

"Blueberry cake." Novilene answered with a proud look on her face. "Ma's favorite cake. How's your day?"

"Boring." He whined and sits on the chair across from her. "The teacher wanted us to do an essay about Albert Einstein in 2000 words."

"Ouch." She smiled in sympathy and feel his pain. Novilene is a genius woman however, she hates essay homework. "I feel your pain buddy."

"You graduated early before I do!" He exclaimed and sighs heavily. "I wish I have your brain."

"Even a genius like me hates homework as well." She told him the truth. "Especially my work doing reports? I hate writing."

"I didn't peg you a hater one, Nov." Kevin shakes his head and grabs one of the raspberry muffins then eat it. "Is Alex coming over Maricar's birthday?"

"He can't. Alex has an exam tomorrow." Kevin yelled happily and she stared at him with a deadpan expression. "You seem to happy about it." Novilene wasn't surprised Kevin and Alex hated each other's gut because they loved her deeply, not wanting to share by someone else. Both boys are alright with Ethan but them? They can't tolerate each other despite Novilene wanting them to get along.

"Well... I mean, too bad he couldn't come." He rambled and cringed seeing her stare. "I swear sis! He's going to miss her birthday."

"I swear you two are acting like children. Wanting to impress me which brother is the best." Kevin smiled cheekily and Novilene sighs heavily. "If you're struggling with your assignments, I'll help you."

"You're the best!" He kissed her on the cheek and went upstairs.

Novilene shakes her head and glad that Kevin changed a bit in a good way. People are quick to judge her why adopting a teenage boy instead of children that are younger than him. None of them knew what Kevin been through and she made the right decision to adopt him.

"Serenity, wow. Amazing as always." She looked at the right side to see Maricar is approaching her. "Please don't bake too much. Despite you have a bottomless stomach." She joked and Novilene shakes her head.

"I didn't bake a lot, Ma." She assured her. "Excited for tomorrow? Dad, Nathan, Ethan, Julia, Spen, Phoebe, Steve and Angelique are coming tomorrow."

"I'm getting old." She sighs heavily and Novilene smiles. "How come you didn't invite Lia?"

"She's still working on her case. Cee thinks that the case might take her longer and couldn't make it in time." She answered and placing the cake inside the fridge. "Ma, you may look older in age, your appearance says otherwise."
