Chapter 38 Pregnant (Mission Impossible)

26 years for seeking answers to know my real family. It turns out Caleb Turner killed my mother and she sends me out of the country to protect me from harm. I couldn't believe one of my best friend, Novilene Cruz, hide this huge secret to me and now it reveals everything... the moment Spencer and I got kidnapped by Dawn.

I'm more worried about this mission now. Not only we're dealing one but four most dangerous criminals. It makes me feel anxious and worried about ourselves that we're secretly doing a mission without getting caught by them or we'll be screwed.

She's The One

Everyone are riding on the airplane and waiting for it to land their destination, Dubai. Lia couldn't stop thinking of the unexpected sudden event, glancing at her side to see Brandt is in deep thoughts.

"How are you holding up, Chief Brandt?" Lia asks him curiously with a worried look on his face.

"Wha-what?" Brandt is startled at her sudden question.

"Seeing him died right in front of you? How are you holding up?"

"Completely fine." He lied. "You? How did you process your family heritage?" Questioning her and surprise to see she's so calm at this kind of situation.

"I didn't know my mom sacrifice her life to save me... still grasping the information." She murmured and sighs sadly. "Now that mom's past haunts us down... he won't stop until he kills me."

"We won't allow that to happen, Snow." Brandt assured her. "I know that you're a Federal Agent despite Hunt lied to us... we always have your back."

"Thank you, Chief Brandt." She smiled gently.

"Will." He blushed slightly and was mesmerized by her beauty. "Call me Will."

"You can call me Lia in return."

Phoebe silently gapes in surprise while she's busy watching Novilene's stomach. She couldn't believe Novilene is pregnant at this kind of situation. Phoebe knows Novilene always have flat stomach despite eating too much food. However, she could tell whether the woman is pregnant or not because she's a mother with one child to Steve. It pains her heart of leaving her family again despite vowing to retire for good.

"Psst... Nov, I need you something." Phoebe whispered to avoid Reid getting wake up by her voice.

"Su-sure." Novilene stuttered and followed Phoebe behind.

Phoebe closes the door to have a private conversation between them. "Um... Phoebe, what's going on?" Novilene asks her curiously.

"Have you been ill lately?" Phoebe questioned her curiously.

"Wha-"

"Tell me honestly or I'll call Ethan." Threatening the young woman knowing she's a bit scared of Ethan.

"I got sick easily which is a rare for me... I don't have any food allergy except alcohol." Novilene explained. "I'm worried about my per- oh..."

"Yeah, oh. You idiot." She shakes her head and holding the human scanner. "For someone who is smart, you can be dumb of the signs."

"Hey!" She pouts and frowned the idea of being pregnant now.

Novilene is happy about her becoming a mother but feared for their safety. She is terrified of the idea of getting miscarriage during this dangerous mission.  Phoebe smiled in sympathy while using the scanner on Novilene's stomach. There is no mistake, Novilene Cruz is pregnant and carrying the child of Spencer Reid.
