“Hurting myself over and over again
Can’t just let it go”
She wonders this to herself
And a self within tells her so
Its’ just the stupid heart
The brain wants to let it go
But the heart wants to cling on to it
And doesn’t want those memories to fade
The memories are sad
And they hurt her so much
She knows it though
But can’t let them go
They pierce the heart
And remind her of all that
Of everything that happened
And the pain it gave her
She wants to be strong
She wants to move on
But those memories cling onto her
Like parasites and don’t let go
From once upon a time of a beautiful summer romance
It turned to an ugly story
One she doesn’t recognize
One she doesn’t understand
Why did it have to happen
Why did he have to go breaking her heart
She wouldn’t know still
No questions answered yet
Three years on
Sits she in her room
Pretending to ignore and live life
Pretend as if none of it ever happened.
