I look at myself in the big mirror in the room. I look at the beautiful dress that my head maid, Mary, made for me. It is a sleeveless, dark blue, ball gown, with some extra embroiderment on the top pat. For my hair, my second maid, Ella, had put my sides in a braid that lead to a high bun. In the middle of my up do was a tiara that was big enough to bee seen, but simple enough that I felt safe wearing it. That is one thing I can never get used to, all the expensive jewelry.

There is a light knock on my door. I smile to myself when the memories of Maxon doing this all the time during the selection come flooding to my head. Mary had let Maxon in, and I could see the admiration in his eyes. He stood there in a black suit, with a white shirt underneath, and a deep blue tie.

"Wow my dear, I am the luckiest man in the world to have someone as gorgeous as you," he says, coming up behind me, and kisses my cheek. I spilled at our reflections in the mirror.

"No Your Majesty, you made me the luckiest girl in the world to marry someone as amazing as you," I say turning to face him directly. I look up to him, and smile. I am so lucky to be married to him. I try to think how my life would be without him, but all I could see was darkness and sadness. I am happy he chose me.

"Well my beautiful Queen, we should start heading down to the party, or else the guests would start to wonder where we are," He says, putting his arm out for me. I place my arm around his, and we make our way to the great room. We waited out the side door till we were announced.

I could hear the announcer loud and clear from where we were standing. "Now may I please introduce, King Mason Schreaves and his queen, Queen America," the loud male vice says, and the door in front of us swung open. Maxon led us through the door way, and everyone in the room bowed. We stood on the stage for a couple seconds before Maxon spoke.

"Hello everyone, My wife and I want to thank you for joining us this evening to celebrate our new Marriage and to allow my wife meet all of you. Please enjoy yourselves tonight and if you need anything, there are maids and butlers all around, feel free to ask them. Enjoy your evening!" he says before guiding me off the stage.

The first group I was introduced to was the Queen and King of Swenday. I have met them during my Selection, but now I am meeting them as the Queen of Illéa. Maxon lead me from group to group until I met every King and Queen there, and every high officials of the different countries. It took hours to get through it all because everyone wanted to talk to Mason about politics, or ask me about my experience as a new queen. My answer was always "Its a lot of change for me, but I am excited to help my country as much as I can." Everyone loved that, and would let me go from there.

When we finally got through everyone, Maxon had led me to the dancing floor for the first slow dance of the night. It started as just us, then grew to the other Kings and Queens, then everyone joined in. We danced for who-knows how long, but what made us stop was a King asking if he and Maxon could speak somewhere about a pressing matter. He agreed, and told me to enjoy the party and he will be back. When he and the other king went to a table in the corner, I looked to see if there was anyone I would be able to talk to. Thats when I saw Princess Nicoletta. As I was walking over, I saw her notice and she smiled.

"I knew it would be you," she says pulling me in for a hug and a kiss on each cheek.

"And you were right. God I still don't believe it's all happening," I say looking over to Maxon.

"Well, if it's any help, I know you will be an amazing Queen," she says. We talked for awhile, and even danced little. That was when I started to feel light headed. I started to feel sick, so I politely excused myself, and went as fast as I could that was considered polite from the great hall. As I got out of sight of everyone, I ran all the way to my room, flung open my door which scared my maids, but I ran right into the bathroom. I got there just in time before I threw up in the toilet. I stayed like that till everything in my stomach was in the toilet.

Mary must have came in at some point because I felt her rubbing my back. "Are you okay America?" she asks with worry in her voice.

"Yes. I am sorry I startled you. Can you girls help me change, then leave? I don't want to get you all sick." I say. I can see the hesitation, but she nods her head. The three girls helped me change from the beautiful dress into a silk nightgown, and Mary pulled my hair into a ponytail to keep it out of my way and left. I laid on the bed for awhile until another round of sickness hit me. While I was getting sick, I heard a knock. I couldn't say anything, but I was hoping they would leave. I was wrong. Maxon walked in the next second, and found me laying by the toilet.

"My dear are you okay," he says rushing to me. I put my hands up, and stop him before he gets to close.

"I am sick, I don't want to get you sick. I'll be fine," I said. "Is the party still going on?"

"Yes but after Nicoletta came and told me you left and looked sick, I came up here to see if you were okay," he says, deciding to sit on the tiled floor right where he was.

"I will be okay. Please go down and be at the party, I don't want to get you sick," I say.

"No America, I want to be here for you. Through Sickness and Health remember?" He says leaning against the cabinet. That was the moment I knew he was really an amazing person. He and I sat like that through the night, talking about anything and everything. During my times of sickness, he would come over and rub my back. I was lucky to have a man like him.
