As I walk to chemistry I feel a presence next to me which I soon find to be Ryder. We both have the same class next, we just have never walked together to it.
When we walk in I take my normal seat in the back and Ryder sits with me. I look up at him surprised.
" I'm really trying not to sound mean when I say this, but can you please move to another table?" I ask trying to sound as nice as possible.
"Why? Are you afraid you're going to catch my cooties or something?" Ryder says jokingly.
"No. It's just that I get really distracted when someone sits next to me. I have to sit alone if I want to be able to pay attention." I say embarrassed.
Ryder chuckles. "I will try my best to not distract you, but I'm still sitting here." Ryder then gives the cheekiest smirk. He looks much younger when he does that. I just roll my eyes and try to pay extra attention and focus on the lesson.
As our teacher give the powerpoint, we have to right notes. He keeps drowning on and on about chemical reactions like they are the best thing since sliced bread.
After about 40 minutes Ryder slowly leans into me. I try to resist the urge to pull away from him. His close proximity was getting me nervous, but I wasn't going to tell him that obviously.
"So I'm guessing you and Chase are a thing?" Ryder asks. My eyes widen by the question.
"Zach and I? Yeah, no. We're just friends."
"Didn't seem like that at lunch. You go to the games specifically to watch him?"
"Yeah I do. He's one of my best friends ever. I have had a major crash on him since kindergarten. He's so nice and sweet I just want to hug him. He was my first kiss. It was in the 7th grade during a school dance. Freshman year we kinda had a thing and went to Homecoming together, but that stopped when school ended. He asked me out last year in a really bad time in my life so I said no, but he was cool with it. We're still super close obviously."
"Do you still like him?" Ryder asks.
"I think maybe just a little. I mean I love the kid, but like a brotherly love now. He's basically a part of my family. I feel like I maybe still have a little bit of feeling for him but not major how I used to." I say and Ryder nods.
"So I'm guessing you are going to the Homecoming game on Friday to watch your boyfriend play?" Ryder asks with a smirk.
"I am coming, I go to every game. And I'm going there to watch Zach and Alex play. I don't have a boyfriend who plays football."
"You will soon." Ryder says.
I can't help but wonder if he was talking about Zach or someone else.

When school is out I go to my car and plug in my aux to listen to some music. Half way through my drive I decide to FaceTime Janet. Luckily she answers.
"Hey Tay what's up?" Janet asks clearly in the passenger seat of Madison's car.
"So I know it's tradition to order pizza on girls nights, but I'm not really feeling it. Let's get Chinese."
"Madison and I were just saying that! Not the Chinese part, but the not having pizza one. Want us to order it and bring it over?" Janet asks.
"Yeah sure. I'm going to leave the door unlocked." I say. Janet nods her head and clicks off of the FaceTime.
I head over to my house and head upstairs to put my stuff down. I lay down on my bed and begin reading my book that I haven't read all day. As soon as I finish my chapter I hear Janet and Madison walk in.
