Thanos had taken Gamora and Nebula back to ship. Gamora was waiting for Thanos he was doing something with Nebula, or rather to her. All Gamora could think about was her friends, especially Gwen. She really did love her. Obviously not in the way that Gwen loved Peter or Gamora herself loved Damien, but Gamora did really love Gwen. When Thanos came back, he had a bowl of food with him.

"I thought you might be hungry" he said. He gave Gamora the bowl but she threw it against Thanos' chair, causing the bowl to shatter.

"I always hated that chair" Gamora said

"So I've been told. Even so, I hoped you'd sit in it one day"

"I hated this room, this ship...I hated my life"

"You told me that, too. Everyday. For almost twenty years"

"I was a child when you took me"

"I saved you"

"No. We were happy on my home planet"

"Going to bed hungry? Scrounging for scraps? Your planet was on the brink of collapse. I'm the one who stopped that. You know what's happened since then? The children born, have known nothing but full bellies and clear skies. It's a paradise" Thanos tried reasoning his actions but Gamora wasn't having any of it.

"Because you murdered half the planet" she argued.

"A small price to pay for salvation"

"You're insane"

"Little one, it's a simple calculus. This universe is finite. Its resources, finite. If life is left unchecked, life will cease to exist. It needs correction"

"You don't know that!"

"I'm the only one who knows that. At least, I'm the only one with the will to act on it. For a time you had that same will, as you fought by my side, daughter"

"I'm not your daughter. Everything I hated about myself, you taught me"

"And in doing so, made you the fiercest woman in the galaxy. It's why I trusted you to find the Soul Stone"

"I'm sorry I disappointed you"

"I am disappointed. But not because you didn't find it. But because you did. And you lied"

Thanos brought Gamora into the room where he brought Nebula. She was stuck, floating in the air, pieces of her body pulled apart. Thanos began to torture her, and Nebula screamed in pain.

"Nebula! Don't do this. Please, don't do this" Gamora pleaded. Nebula kept on screaming as Thanos continued his torture. "Stop. Stop it!" Thanos stopped. "I swear to you, on my life I never found the Soul Stone"

"Accessing memory files" Nebula said. She projected a hologram of Gamora.

"You know what he's about to do. He's finally ready, and he's going for the stones. All of them. He'll never get them all. He can't, Nebula. Because I found the map to the Soul Stone, and I burned it to ash. I burned it" the holographic Gamora said. The hologram ended.

"You're strong. Me, the generous me. But I never taught you to lie. That's why you're so bad at it" Thanos said. He started torturing Nebula again. "Where is the Soul Stone?" Gamora couldn't stand to see Nebula in pain anymore so she gave in.

"Vormir. The stone is on Vormir"

Thanos took Gamora to Vormir. He began to pry information about Gwen from Gamora.

"The Kosmonian, she's your friend, yes?" Thanos asked

"Gwen is not just my friend. She's my sister" Gamora said

"She is not your sister. She is too weak to be your sister"

"She's not weak! She's stronger than you will ever be! Do you not remember that her people stopped you from slaughtering them?"

"Daughter, that was when I didn't have the Infinity Stones in my possession. That was some time ago. I would assume that they're not as strong as they used to be. The stone better be up here for your sister's sake" Thanos and Gamora had approached a cloaked figure.

"Welcome, Thanos, son of Eros. Gamora, daughter of Thanos" the figure said.

"You know us?"

"It is my curse to know all who journey here"

"Where is the Soul Stone?"

"You should know, it extracts a terrible price"

"I'm prepared"

"We all think that at first. We are all wrong" The figure lifted his head revealing a man with a red skull for a face.

Thanos and Gamora followed Red Skull to the very top of the ruins.

"How is it you know this place so well?" Thanos asked.

"A lifetime ago, I too sought the stones. I even held one in my hand. But it cast me out. Banished me here. Guiding others to a treasure I cannot possess" Red Skull brought Thanos and Gamora to a cliff. "What you seek lies in front of you. As does what you fear"

"What's this?" Gamora asked

"The price. Soul holds a special place among the Infinity Stones. You might say it is, a certain wisdom"

"Tell me what it needs" Thanos said

"To ensure whoever possesses it, understands its power, the Stone demands a sacrifice"

"Of what?"

"In order to take the Stone... You must lose that of which you love. A soul, for a soul" Red Skull said. Gamora couldn't believe what she was hearing. She smiled and she began to laugh.

"All my life, I dreamed of a day, a moment when you got what you deserved. And I was always so disappointed. But, now you kill, and torture, and you call it mercy. The Universe has judged you. You asked it for a prize and and it told you, no. You failed. And do you wanna know why? Because you love nothing. No one" she said. Thanos turned to look at her. She saw that he was shedding tears. She didn't buy it. "Really? Tears?"

"They are not for him" Gamora's smile disappeared as she realized what Red Skull meant.

"No. This isn't love"

"I ignored my destiny once. I cannot do that again. Even for you" Thanos said. Gamora grabbed her knife from Thanos and attempted to stab herself with it. It turned to bubbles before it could pierce her. "I'm sorry, little one" He grabbed Gamora and dragged her to the edge of the cliff. He threw her over the edge, and she fell, and fell, and fell until finally....

Gamora hit the ground. She was dead.
