I Need A Hero Vol 3 {Peter Quill}

Gwen, Nebula, Helena, Peter and Gamora approached the door to the cargo bay. Gamora tried opening it but it was locked.

"Damn it. She locked the door. She knew we would be coming" Gamora said.

"If she thinks she can keep me from my baby, then she's wrong" Gwen said. She took out her lightsaber and powered it up. She stabbed it through the door, cutting a large hole into it. The cut circle of the door fell, making a loud thud. Gwen was about to go in when Helena stopped her.

"She's probably in there, sister. She's probably not alone either. You're not going in alone" Helena said.

"Then come in after me and keep close to me" Gwen said. She went in and the others followed close behind, hands on their weapons.

"This room is too big. We're never going to find Meredith like this" Nebula said.

"Then we need to split up. Gamora and Nebula, look on that side. Helena and Peter, look in that area. I'll look over here. Make sure you check all the containers" Gwen suggested.

"Okay. Gwen, be careful alright?" Peter said, putting his hand on her shoulder. Gwen nodded and smiled at him. She wanted to kiss him but she knew that he wasn't actually Peter. It was Kamomile as Peter.

"I promise" Gwen said. They split off and began to look around. With light steps Gwen checked every container, every corner, every crook and every cranny. There was no sign of Meredith. She began thinking the worst.

What if she's gone? What if Thanos came and took her? What if we were too late?

Gwen noticed a shadow on the wall. With caution, she placed her hand on her weapon and approached it.

"Phantom, I know that's you. I want my daughter back and I want her now!"  Gwen felt something on her back and then she felt an electric shock. She fell to the ground. Zane and Brenna came out of hiding.

"Nice one, Zane" Brenna said.

"Thank you. I've been working on that zapper for a while. It temporarily paralyzes the victim " Zane said. Gwen tried to move but she couldn't. She tried opening her mouth to scream for help but nothing came out. "It also renders them speechless"

"Excellent work, Zane" Phantom said. She came off the wall as the shadow and turned to herself. She stepped over to Gwen and picked her up by the neck. "I've never disappointed Thanos, and I'm not about to start. I'm not going to let you or your stupid friends ruin that" Gwen was mouthing 'help' hoping her friends would hear her but she couldn't make a noise. "You can try to speak all you want. No sound is going to come out of that ugly hole you call a mouth"

"Lady Phantom, your blade" Brenna said. She stepped forward and presented the weapon to Phantom.

"Ah, thank you" Phantom grabbed the sharp blade. "Zane, bring out the guest. I wouldn't want her to miss this"

"As you wish, Lady Phantom" Zane said. He disappeared for a moment before coming back with Meredith. He was dragging her by a leash. Her hands were tied, her mouth was gagged and her eyes were covered. "Little child, we have a surprise for you" Zane took the blindfold off her eyes.

"Mhmhm" Meredith muffled voice said. She couldn't stand to see her mother like this. Phantom turned Gwen's head so that she could see Meredith.

"Look who came for the show. Say goodbye now because this is the last time you'll ever see her. Oh, wait. You can't say goodbye. Oh well" Phantom said. She readied her blade, positioning it just above where Gwen's heart is.

"Nhnhnh" Meredith screamed but it was muffled. She began to cry. She was about to witness her mother be murdered in front of her.

"Now, you die!" Phantom said. Before she could stab Gwen, the familiar axe came swinging and hit Zane, Brenna and Phantom. They fell to the ground, and by extension, Phantom let go of Gwen. Her limp body fell to the ground. Stormbreaker found it's way back to Thor.

"You dare try to kill the woman of my affections?" Thor said. Phantom snarled at him before one of her clouds engulfed her and the other two. Gwen was laying in a way where she could see everyone. All The Avengers And Guardians found their way to the cargo bay and came just in the nick of time.

"Thor, you do realize her husband is standing right there?" Tony said.

"It's not really him, remember? Kamomile multiplied and turned into her friends" Gwen was mouthing help. Natasha was the first one to notice.

"Guys, something is wrong with Gwen" she said. Natasha went over to her along with Helena, Thor, and Peter. Helena began helping Meredith. Natasha cupped Gwen's face. "Say something Gwen" She tried but she couldn't. She couldn't even shake her head.

"I don't think she can move" Thor said.

"Wait, turn her to her side" Peter said. Natasha and Thor turned her over. Right away, Peter could spot Zane's zapper. He removed it but unfortunately, Gwen was still paralyzed.

"What is it?" Natasha asked.

"Zane paralyzed her. It's temporary but temporary as in it'll last a few years" Peter said.

"Is there a way to reverse it?" Thor asked.

"Fortunately yes. There's a certain mixture that needs to be boiled for it to work. The scent is what takes away the effects"

"I could help with that" Lylla spoke up. She looked around. "However, I don't think we're going to find the ingredients here"

"That's why we need to get her back to Kosmo. The ingredients we need grow in the garden"

"We need to leave then. Now. Something tells me the others will be back shortly" Helena said. Thor picked up Gwen bridal style. She could still move her eyes and looked up at him. He looked back at her and smiled.

"Everything is going to be alright" Thor assured her. That would be true if Phantom hadn't reappeared.

"None of you are leaving with the child or with her!" Phantom said. Steve stepped forward, looking her directly in the eyes.

"I'm afraid that's not going to happen. Either you let us leave or we're going to fight our way out" he said. Phantom smirked.

"Well, let's have some fun then" she said. Besides Zane and Brenna, who was now riding on the back of Dovah, Phantom summoned some shadow beings. "Prepare to lose"
