I Need A Hero Vol 3 {Peter Quill}

I know I'm skipping a lot of the movie but this is a GOTG story so it's focused a lot on those characters.

Peter and Gwen were still in each other's arms. Gwen had her eyes closed as Peter stroked her hair, and sang their song to her.

"Ooh, baby I love your way" Peter softly sang. She opened her eyes and looked up at him. He gave her a smile and said, "I'm never letting go"

"Something's happening" Mantis said. Everyone watched in horror as she turned to dust. Drax was the next one.

"Quills?" he said before he vanished. Peter and Gwen looked at each other. Stark could see how scared they looked.

"Steady Quills" he said. Gwen started tearing up as she hugged Peter with all her might.

"P-Peter, don't you dare leave me! You can't leave me! I love you! There's something you need to know" she cried. Peter cupped her cheek and pressed a gentle kiss on her lips.

"I'll always love you, my Star-Princess" Peter said. Gwen watched in horror as her husband turned to dust in her arms.

"No!" she cried and fell to her knees. Stark, Parker, Strange, Nebula and Quentin watched her with heartbreak. Damien and Helena went over to comfort her. "He's gone! I didn't even get to tell him I was pregnant!"

"Sister, we'll find a way to get him and the others back" Damien said. He placed his hand on Gwen's shoulder. His hand began turning to dust as well.

"Brother, not you too! You can't leave us!" Helena cried. Damien gave his sisters one last smile before he vanished.

"Guys, Quentin's disappearing as well" Nebula said. Everyone turned to look at him. He was almost gone but managed to get one final sentence out.

"Gwen, I'm so sorry for everything I've done. Helena, I love you" Quentin said before he disappeared.

"Tony" Strange spoke. Stark turned to look at him. "There was no other way" Strange then vanished as well.

"Mr. Stark, I don't feel so good" Parker said, stumbling over to Stark.

"You're all right" Stark said.

"I don't...I don't know what's happening" Parker hugged Stark, never wanting to let go. "I don't wanna go, I don't wanna go. Mr. Stark, please. I don't wanna go" Stark laid Parker down on the ground. "I'm sorry" Parker then vanished. It was quiet for a moment before Nebula spoke up

"He did it" she said. Nebula went over to the distraught Gwen. She sat beside her and started rubbing her back. Gwen was still crying. It didn't help that she could still feel Peter's kiss against her lips.

"What do we do now?" Helena asked.

"I'll call Rocket. We need to find out where he is and then we should go to Kosmo" Nebula said. She reached for her com-link. "Helena, stay here with her"

Back on Wakanda, it wasn't a very happy outcome. The likes of Bucky, T'Challa, Wanda Maximoff and Sam Wilson turned to dust. Rocket was an emotional wreck because Groot did as well. He heard his com-link beeping and answered it.

"Yeah?" he said.

"Rocket, it's Nebula. Is everything alright?"

"We lost Groot. He just turned to dust. How are the others?"

"It's only Gwen, Helena and I. Gwen is taking it pretty hard. Peter turned to dust in her arms"

"Oh no. That means we've lost Gwen as well. She's never gonna be the same again"

"Where are you? We're gonna pick you up and go to Kosmo. I think that's the best plan right now"

"I'll send you my coordinates. See you soon" The com-link cut off. He sighed and sat down, rubbing his face. Thor sat down beside him.

"How are the others?" he asked.

"They're all gone except for Gwen, Nebula and Helena. We're heading to Kosmo. That seems to be our best plan right now" Rocket explained.

"Maybe all of us should come with you"

"Thor, you can come if you want but I don't know if your friends—"

"It's alright" Steve Rogers spoke up. He didn't seem fazed that there was a talking raccoon. "I think we should all go"

"Is no one going to comment on the fact that the raccoon is talking?" Bruce Banner said. Natasha Romanoff just shrugged.

"Weirder things have happened" she said.

Back on Titan, Gwen's crying stopped but she was silent. Nobody dared talk to her. She sat in the captains chair on the ship while Nebula, Helena and Stark were sitting behind her.

"Is Quill gonna be alright?" Stark asked.

"She just lost her husband and the father of her children. She's far from alright" Nebula said.

"I wouldn't talk to or even touch her for awhile. When Kosmonians get emotional like this, our energy surges through our body. One touch and you'll be sent flying across the room" Helena explained.

"Good to know. So where is it we're headed? Kosmo?" Stark asked.

"I need to make sure my daughter is alright" Gwen finally spoke. She looked at the screen next to her which showed Rocket's coordinates. "But we have to pick up a friend first"

So this story isn't quite over yet. I'm keeping it going with the Guardians and Avengers on Kosmo where another conflict will happen. Stay turned for more.
