Celeste's eyes were glowing blue as she felt all her celestial powers coursing through her veins. Her feet lifted off the ground as she hovered above the ground.
"Do you really think you scare me? You're just a child! A weak, pathetic—" Phantom was interrupted when Celeste punched her and she was sent flying across the room. Phantom hit the wall, breaking it in the process.
"And you call me the weak one?" Celeste said. Phantom rose to her feet, wiping the blood draining from her nose. She was mad now.
"Forget about her friends! Kill her!" Phantom ordered. The remaining shadow beings attacked Celeste first. She began to fight them using light beams which took them out at a fast rate. "Zane, Brenna, she's distracted. Get her!"
"Do we have to?" Zane asked.
"Don't be a baby Zane. We can take her, plus we have a dragon. She doesn't" Brenna said. She sprouted wings from her back, and took to the air so that she was now level with Celeste.
"Are you really stupid enough to fight me?" Celeste asked.
"The only stupid one here is you" Brenna made fire appear in her hands and she threw it at Celeste. Brenna smirked when it hit her and melted away part of Celeste's body, but that smirk quickly faded when Celeste healed herself. "What? How is that possible?"
"Don't you know anything about Celestials?" Celeste said. She began to tear apart the cement from the ground, and it floated up to her. She sent the broken rubble towards Brenna. She attempted to fly away from it but it caught up to her and managed to trap her against the wall.
Dovah, get her! You're stronger than she is!
Yes, master. With pleasure!
Dovah let out a screeching roar before he lifted his huge body off the ground. He began to fly and circle around Celeste. He let out a huge breath of fire. Celeste formed a protective layer of rock around herself.
What magic is this? No one can escape my flames!
Don't let that stop you! Get her!
Celeste got the upper hand when she sprouted light tentacles out of the ground. They grew until they reached Dovah. They wrapped around the dragon and began pulling him towards the ground.
Dovah! Use your strength!
I-I can't. She's too strong
Dovah was brought to the ground. His strength was drained from him and he let out a cry of defeat. Celeste landed on the ground in front of Zane.
"Come on. Show me what you got" she said. Zane powered up his gloves again. Before he could get a chance to use them, Celeste gripped his wrists. Her grip was so strong that she broke his gloves.
"No! You broke them!" Zane cried out.
"Seriously dude? Get over it. You can always make yourself another pair" Celeste said. She then bitch-slapped him and he flew across the room. That only left one other person. Celeste went over to Phantom. "Your friends lost, and I suggest that you surrender now before you face the same fate"
"I'll kill you before I let that happen" Phantom said.
"I'm a third Celestial. That also means I'm immortal"
"I'll find a way. I always do" Before Phantom could attempt anything, Celeste made a light tentacles pierce through her chest. It lifted Phantom in the air and she began to struggle to free herself.
"Listen here you bitch" Celeste lifted herself of the ground, and became level with Phantom. "I want you and your friends to leave. When you see Thanos, I want you tell him exactly what happened and who did this to you"
"H-he'll be coming for you. One day" Phantom said.
"I'll be ready for him, and he'll lose. Me and my friends here will make sure of that" Celeste said. Her feet touched the ground, and she let Phantom go. "Leave before I change my mind about killing you"
"You'll regret this" Phantom said before she left, taking Zane, Brenna and Dovah with her. Celeste smirked proudly before something caught her eye. At some point, Thor had dropped Stormbreaker. Celeste walked over to it, picked it up and brought it over to him.
"I think you dropped this" she said. Thor took the weapon, giving her a surprised look. All the Avengers were. "What?"
"You're worthy" Thor commented.
"I'm worthy? What does that mean?"
"No one except Thor can wield his weapon. Trust me. We all tried to lift his hammer once and none of us could get it" Rhodey explained.
"But I did. So that means I'm worthy enough to lift it? Awesome!" Gwen began coughing and that's when Celeste remembered. "Mom!" She and everyone else went over to Gwen. Celeste began expecting the wound. "That's deep mom. I'm surprised you haven't bled out yet"
"Wait a minute" Tony spoke up. He remembered something that Gwen had said. Worry and concern filled his mind. "Gwen said she was pregnant back on Titan"
"Oh no..." Rocket muttered.
"Then we need to get her back to Kosmo fast" Nebula said.
"She's going to bleed out before the ship even lands on Kosmo" Bruce said.
"You guys get to the ship. Meredith—" Thor said.
"It's actually Celeste when I'm like this" Celeste said.
"Alright then. Celeste, you come with me and your mother. I can get us to Kosmo quickly" Celeste nodded. She picked up Gwen and went with Thor to an open area of the room.
"Mom, it's gonna be okay. I promise" Celeste said. Thor has summoned the Bifrost. He, Celeste and Gwen were gone in a flash.
"We should get back to the ship. We need to be there for Gwen and make sure she's okay" Steve said.
"You guys go on ahead. The Guardians need to have a meeting" Rocket said. Steve nodded. He and the other Avengers made their way to the ship. Rocket noticed that Kamomile was still in the form of his friends.
"Kamomile, you can make yourself one and turn back to normal" Rocket said. Kamomile's copies disappeared and reverted back to himself. "Okay, so anyways, we should probably discuss who the new Captain will be since—"
"Are you implying that Gwen is going to die?" Kraglin asked.
"She's not going to Rocket" Lylla said.
"I never said that. I'm just saying, if she does, which she won't, we should probably make plans of who the new captain would be" Rocket said.
"If Gwen was gone, Helena should become the new captain" Nebula suggested.
"Me? Really? Even after all the shit I put you guys through?" Helena said.
"Yes. It makes sense. You're Gwen's sister so the role should be passed onto you. That is if Gwen doesn't make it"
"What about Meredith?"
"I don't think a four year old is ready for the responsibility. Even if she can turn into an overpowered god woman" Rocket said.
"But I'm not even a Guardian of The Galaxy"
"After today, you more than proved yourself as a member" Lylla said.
"I agree, and I know Gwen would too" Kraglin said.
"As touching as this is, and really it is, we should get back. Gwen will want to see us" Kamomile said. With that, the Guardians went to join the others on the ship.
