I snapped out of my thoughts and glanced around, seeing a large king sized bed, a television, a table, a couch and a large wardrobe. A bathroom was connected to his bedroom, and from the opened door, I could see another door connected to it to.
Must be his and Boogie's shared bathroom then, since they mentioned Boogie's room was beside his.
I looked around, uncomfortable.
Would it be appropriate for me to sleep on the bed?
His bed.
August's bed.
Shaking my thoughts aside, I layed on the couch, my imagination drifting away.
Why were my parents against the country?
Why did my parents create the Thana disease?
The disease that are going to kill their own daughter.
Not that they would care anyways. Me and my parents weren't on the best terms.
The only memories I had of time after my accident was their beatings and scoldings.
Their abuse
Being their lab rat.
"Valarie!" My father called.
I staggered towards him, weak, gulping as I answered, "yes?"
My father thrust a bottle of green liquid towards me.
"Drink this,"
"Another one? I just drank the hisolda potion," I protested.
"Drink it, you know what will happen if you don't," my mother smirked.
"I'll dr-drink, I'll drink," I stuttered as I gulped down the green liquid.
My world span, I tumbled to the floor, collapsed, clutching my head.
"We'll wait a few days and see whether it's effective. If she doesn't we'll create another potion,"
At that moment, my eyes fluttered shut.
My world turned black.
"Holy shit were they testing out potions for the Thana disease on me?" I mumbled.
Suddenly, my thoughts were fuzzy and my there was a pounding feeling in my head. A new memory flashed before me, one I've never recalled before.
"What potion is it now?"
"The Thana potion," my mother replied with pride as she handed it to me.
"You? Why are you here?"
"Fuck," someone cursed.
"You want to help your little girlfriend? Why not you drink it too?" My father thrusted the Thana potion to that figure. He nodded and drank it.
"I think it's working," my father said.
"We don't know whether it worked, because it varies. It could be a day, or a year, for the virus to fight each other,"
"But the side effects are showing,"
"Okay. Let's put some of this potion in drinks, and hope it'll work,"
A day later, they were killed by a fire, along with Ruibin's parents.
I never found out if they successfully managed to spread the Thana poison.
That's the poison. They must have gave to one of the citizens, which spread it to one another, causing it to become the state that it is now, as it's highly contagious.
At that moment, Xukun came barging into the door, clutching his shoulder, making all my thoughts disappear.
"What happened?" I asked as I ran to his side, helping him onto his bed.
He ignored me as he signalled the the drawer.
"The white and blue pills, now,"
I hurriedly ran towards the table, opened the drawer and fumbled through it, finally finding the pills he was looking for.
"Take two of each, give it to me," he commanded in a weak voice as I did what he was told. He gulped it down with water that I took from the fridge - which I didn't realise was there til now.
"That's better," he groaned.
He took off his shirt, making me startled. He had visible 6 packs and his body was very muscular.
"Quit staring, you going to help me treat this or not?" He snapped. I blushed, tearing my gaze away from his chest to his shoulder.
It was purple, with streaks of red running down it, some of the blood still wet, most of it dried.
"There's a liquid in the drawer. Take it, pour some on my shirt. Dab it on the wound,"
I did as he told as he winced.
"What happened?"
"I'd rather keep all those fighting and officials stuff to outside these walls. Here, let's talk about us, angel,"
"What about us, do you want to talk about?"
"Just... us. Just us. Our present,"
"We can talk, until sleep betrays us. Til weariness takes over us, as we fall asleep,"
"Letting dreams, or nightmares
take over us,"
