Chapter 68: Christmas with the Weasleys

~•~

By Christmas Day Tonks' hair had finally lost it's yellow colour. After Charlie and Alissa's announcement of their engagement the woman's hair turned a vibrant yellow and had remained that way for two full days.

Christmas in the Burrow was extremely bitter sweet for its participants as it was their first without Sirius. There would always be a first for everything but it proved more overwhelmingly difficult for Olivia and Harry than what the teens had expected. They were beyond happy to be in the comfort of their extended family, the Weasley's, Tonks, Remus and Cecelia but no one could argue that there was a presence missing.

Molly's Christmas dinner feast did not disappoint. Much so that some of the Weasley children went for a forth helping. Many were surprised to see that Olivia had finished her own plate despite how much Molly had piled onto it. No one had witnessed her finish a meal in months let alone as for a second helping, for some it was the best Christmas gift they could've asked for; seeing the once broken seventeen year old well on her way to recovery.

Despite the fun-spirited nature of the day Harry had some concerns he wants to voice which had himself, Remus, Tonks, Arthur and Olivia gathered in the living area while everyone else occupied themselves elsewhere. Molly, Cecelia, Ginny and Alissa were gathered in the kitchen while Fred, George, Ron and Charlie were outside.

Olivia twiddled her thumbs in her lap, thinking about her friends and how they were getting on. She figured there was only Serena who was really safe from having any association with the Dark Lord and, or, Death Eaters over the holidays. Despite being sorted into Slytherin house the Wood family still treat their daughter like their own. They didn't disown her for being placed in a different house and her brother still loved her all the same.

"So you think that Voldemort has chosen Draco Malfoy for a mission?" Remus asked, genuinely confused by his sudden outburst of accusations.

"I know it sounds mad–"

"–obviously you don't otherwise you wouldn't be doing it Harry. You do realise how many times you've pointed the finger at him this year?" Olivia interrupted hotly.

Harry narrowed his eyes at her, "Just because your sleeping with him again your running to cover his back!"

Remus' eyes widened as the sound of a glass shattering was heard in the kitchen. Olivia stared at Harry, remaining oddly calm as her nostrils flared. Harry shifted under her harsh glare as Remus and Arthur prepared themselves for the worst, edging discreetly to the front of their chairs incase either needed to act quickly.

"What did you say?" Olivia said lowly.

Instead of Harry backing down like he should've done, he opened his mouth again, "You forget how fast news travels in Hogwarts Olivia. You might've staged a good fight in the Great Hall but some of us aren't oblivious."

She didn't have much to say but she was still undoubtedly angry with the boy for shouting out her private life like that. The only thing that was keeping her from jumping at him was the fact it was Christmas and with the dark times it was a rare occasion to see everyone happy.

Instead of snapping like they had thought she was going to do she told a deep breath and counted to ten, "We'll talk about this tomorrow Harry. The only thing that's keeping me from ripping into you right now is simply the fact that it's Christmas." She said.

Harry let out a breath he never knew he was holding and Tonks, Remus and Arthur relaxed into their seats. Of course the godfather had somethings of his own to say but he would wait until later. At the end of the day however no one could argue with her as she was of age and her life was her own to live.
