When Rogers opened his eyes he was greeted by a set of stormy gray orbs staring back at him.
"Good morning." He mumbled with a sleepy smile.
"Morning." Kassidy said returning his smile.
"How long have you been awake?" Rogers asked.
"About 30 minutes. I was just watching you sleep. Do you know you talk in your sleep?" Kassidy giggled.
"Oh, God..what did I say?"
"Something about a horse, and a monkey with a space suit?" Kassidy laughed. "What the hell were you dreaming about?"
"I honestly don't remember." Rogers chuckled "But it must have been interesting." He sighed as his alarm went off he rolled over and slapped the clock to get it to stop screeching and the second he rolled back to Kassidy she was on top of him.
He smirked and pushed her wild curls out of her face.
"I have to get ready for work."
Kassidy pouted at him.
"Can't you be late? Once?" She asked.
"Weaver will eat my lunch if I am late." Rogers replied.
Kassidy sighed
"Okay. I don't want you getting yelled at by Weaver. So I guess, I can let you go." She smirked and rolled off of him. Rogers looked back and forth between the clock, and Kassidy. Kassidy batted her long eyelashes and gave him a smile. How the hell was he supposed to leave this?
"Whatcha thinking about Detective?" Kassidy asked.
"I'm thinking about saying to hell with Weaver." Rogers smirked and pulled Kassidy close to him.
"Am I bringing out your rebellious side detective?" Kassidy grinned.
"Aye." Rogers said and rolled over on top of her.
"Good." Kassidy replied.

-----------------------------------------

Kassidy combed through her wet curls as she watched Rogers getting ready for work. She had never in her life felt so strongly for anyone. Not even Will. No one had ever treated her, or her body with as much respect as Rogers and sex had never meant so much. Even the romp in the shower was full of raw passion and for the first time in many years, she felt happy and her heart was full. Rogers looked over at her watching him and smirked.
"I see that look in your eyes, and I know what you are thinking but, if I am anymore late than I already am I'm going to get my ass handed to me." He chuckled. "I'll be home soon enough."
Kassidy smiled at him.
"I know." She replied, but she felt a strange feeling in the pit of her stomach. Something was not right about today.
"You okay?" Rogers asked. Kassidy nodded.
"Yeah. I think so.. Just really anxious..maybe you could call in?"
"I can't call in love." Rogers frowned. "What's got you anxious?"
"I don't know I just.. Have a feeling.. Please be careful." She said and smiled softly. Rogers took note of the fearful look in her eyes and considered calling off but he was so close to figuring out who Will was working for and who had tried to kidnap Kassidy that he desperately needed to be there.
"I'm always careful." He smiled and embraced her pressing a kiss to her head. "Everything will be okay. I'll come by when I take a lunch if it makes you feel better."
"Okay." Kassidy smiled and kissed him on the cheek. "I'm going to curl up on the couch with some tea, and my ID network." she smirked.
"How did I guess?" Rogers chuckled.
"Have a good day." Kassidy said. Rogers leaned in and kissed her.
"You too love." He smiled. Kassidy wiggled her fingers at him as he left, the feeling in the pit of her stomach becoming harder to shake.
"I love you.." She said quietly as the door was closing.

----------------------------------------

Rogers walked into the precinct hoping no one would notice him being nearly 30 minutes late but he had no such luck.
"I was about to send a search party." Weaver grumbled. "Where have you been?"
"I had..something at home to take of." Rogers said and scratched behind his ear.
"Cole giving you trouble Detective?" Weaver asked with a smirk. Rogers chuckled.
"Aye, no more than usual." He said. Weaver leaned in.
"Is.. that coconut I smell? That's an awfully feminine scent for you." He said and raised an eyebrow. Rogers knew someone would comment, but Kassidy insisted on lathering him up with her vanilla coconut body wash. His face took a pink tint and Weaver grinned.
"You and Cole?" He laughed. "That is why you are late?"
"Shut up.." Rogers grumbled walking to the office.
"What was it love at first bucket of paint?" Weaver asked. "I have to admit Rogers I did not see this coming."
"Well, neither did I but.. Shes so much more than what everyone in the heights sees. Now are you going to keep poking fun at my love life, or are we getting to work?" Rogers asked.
"If you insist Detective." Weaver smirked.

----------------------------------------

Kassidy sat at home doing just as she said she would she looked down at her phone

Roni:
Everything work out with you and Rogers?

Kassidy:
You could say that ;)

Roni:
Say no more. I do not need to know.

Kassidy giggled to herself and jumped at the suddenly loud thump outside the door. She got up and looked out the peep hole and gasped, the men who had attacked her that day were here and they were trying to break in. Kassidy picked up her phone and ran down the hall to Rogers room and slid under the bed. She dialed Rogers number as she heard the door being broken down. Rogers phone went to voicemail.
"I really. Really need you to pick up!" She whispered into the phone "Those men.. The ones that tried to grab me. They broke in. They are searching for me. James.. I'm scared and I probably should have called 911 but you were the first person I thought of." She went quiet as she heard footsteps down the hall.
"I don't know whats going to happen..but I just want you to know I lo-
Kassidy felt a hand on her ankle and she screamed as she was pulled from under the bed. She fought against her attacker.
"Let me go!" She screamed.
"Not a chance and just to make sure you don't get away again we came prepared."
Kassidy kicked and screamed as she felt a sharp jab in her neck.
"No!" She yelled as she found herself unable to move. Her vision was blurred and everything went black.

---------------------------------------

It was the middle of the afternoon and Rogers finally caught a break to look at his phone he noticed that Kassidy had called and left a voicemail. Kassidy left him goofy voicemails all the time so he could only imagine what she had sent this time but he was fully unprepared for the sound of panic in her tone.
I really. Really need you to pick up!" She whispered into the phone "Those men.. The ones that tried to grab me. They broke in. They are searching for me. James.. I'm scared and I probably should have called 911 but you were the first person I thought of." She went quiet as she heard footsteps down the hall.
"I don't know whats going to happen..but I just want you to know I lo-
*Scream*
Let me go!
*Click*

Rogers nearly dropped his phone. He practically flew out of his chair.
"What is it?"
"Its Kass. Someones taken her. I have to go."
"Wait. calm down.. Are you sure she's not just pranking you?" Weaver asked.
"Yes! I'm bloody sure! I don't have time for this!" Rogers shouted.
"Okay. Okay. Let me come with you."
-----------------------------------------

When Rogers and Weaver made it to Rogers house. Rogers wasted no time getting out of the car with his gun drawn. He walked to the front door and examined it. It had definitely been kicked in.
"Kass.." He muttered as he walked inside Things were turned over and the house was a mess.
"Christ.." Weaver mumbled as he followed Rogers down the hall searching the room cautiously. Rogers knelt down on the hardwood floor of his bedroom and ran his hands over the scratch marks in the wood. Kassidy must have been under the bed and she did not go down without a fight. Weaver walked up beside him with an empty syringe in his hand.
"She was drugged." He said solemnly. Rogers sat against the bed. How could he have let this happen?
"She wanted me to stay home. She said something didn't feel right.." He said.
"You couldn't have known that this was going to happen Rogers. Don't beat yourself up."
"How can I not? I told her I would protect her. I told her she was safe here!" Rogers sighed and hit the floor with his fist.
"Hey. Listen, We will find her. But we wont find her sitting here on the floor. So lets go, do what we do and bring her home, okay?" Weaver said. Rogers nodded and stood up. He would find her and he would make whoever took her pay.
