Kassidy's feet pounded on the sidewalk as she ran towards the precinct. Any normal person would have just waited, It was only 30 more minutes before Rogers would have been off work but she was way too excited to share this news with him. She would have given anything to have her parents back, so if she could reunite Rogers with his little girl then she would run a marathon to get to him to deliver the news.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Rogers was putting his things up, and getting ready to call it a day and go get Kass from the hospital so when she ran in the precinct with a wild look in her eyes and out of breath, he was instantly worried. He rushed over.
"Hey, what happened? Did someone try to grab you again? Are you okay?"
"yes. I'm fine." She panted.
"Then why did you just come flying in here like a bat outta hell?" Rogers asked. Kassidy handed him the piece of paper with the address on it.
"Will found her."
"Found who, love?" Rogers asked.
"Tilly." Kassidy smiled. Rogers stared down at the address on the paper, and then looked back at Kassidy he has totally forgotten that she had even asked Will for help finding Tilly. His eyes welled.
"He found her?"
"Yep." Kassidy grinned "and it's not too far away maybe an hour and a half dr-" Kassidy couldn't finish her sentence before Rogers wrapped his arms around her lifted her and spun her around before planting a breathtaking kiss on her and setting her back down.
"Whoa Rogers, warn a girl. We about had to lock that door." Kassidy winked.
"Thank you." Rogers smiled holding her face in his hands.
"It wasn't me, it was Will." Kassidy shrugged.
"But you were the one who tried looking in the first place, and you were the one who thought to ask Will. Don't worry I will tell Will thank you too."
"You gonna kiss him like that too?" Kassidy asked with a smirk.
"I'm so happy that I probably could." Rogers chuckled. Kassidy cocked her head to the side and bit her lip.
"No. I am not kissing Will." Rogers said.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Kassidy laid beside Rogers in bed catching her breath.
"Wow.. that..was..wow."
"Aye." Rogers laughed and leaned over and kissed her on the cheek. She giggled at his scruff tickling her face. She rolled over and propped herself up on an elbow smiling at him.
"Got anymore lost kids out there? Maybe a dog? I can start looking now if this is where it leads."
Rogers raised an eyebrow and chuckled.
"Just the one. For now." He smiled.
"For now?" Kassidy asked.
"I like kids. I wouldn't mind a couple more someday." Rogers shrugged. Kassidy hadn't really thought about children before. She never saw herself as mother material and then it struck her. If things went as Rogers planned in a matter of days there would be an 8 year old child living here. She sat up wide eyed and then got out of bed and looked around for her clothes.
"Kass?" Rogers asked.
"I..need a minute." Kassidy said and threw on her underwear and a tee shirt walking out of the room. Rogers got out of bed and pulled on his pants following her out of the room.
"Kass, love what's wrong?" He asked.
"Its nothing. I just.. Need a minute." She said as she paced the living room floor.
"No, something is wrong." Rogers sighed. "Was it the kid thing? I didn't mean to freak you out, I just like to think about the future and I'd kind of like you in it."
Kassidy was more of a in the now type, she wasn't much of a planner, and she she hadn't even thought past what would happen tomorrow and Rogers was thinking kids.. And God.. marriage? She loved Rogers, this should have made her happy that when he thought of the future he thought of her, but it was sending her straight into a panic attack.
"I.. Uh I think I'm going to stay at Roni's for a couple of days. You know.. Until you get Tilly all settled in." Kassidy said.
"What? Why?" Rogers asked.
"Maybe its just for the best? I don't know James. It will give you time to readjust, you two haven't seen each other in a year."
"Kass, I don't want you to stay at Roni's. You can stay here, I want Tilly to adjust to you too. Does me having a kid, suddenly scare you?" Rogers asked.
"Its not that it scares me that you have a kid.. I just.. I mean you know me. I'm not exactly mother material. What if she hates me?"
"She'll love you." Rogers smiled. "And you may not think you are mother material now, but have you ever spent time with a child?"
"Besides Lucy? No." Kassidy sighed. "Think about it James, am I really someone you want helping raise your child? Someone you want to have children with? Someone you want to marry?"
"Yes, Kassidy you are. You are overthinking love. I think once you are around Tilly, you'll do great. Kids don't come with instruction manuals. you'll learn from her." Rogers smiled.
Kassidy sat down.
"You really think she'll like me?"
"Aye." Rogers said and sat down next to her resting his hand on her knee. "You'll see."

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Rogers looked at the house he had parked his car in front of he double checked with the GPS to make sure he had the right place and sighed.
"This it?" Weaver asked.
"Yes." Rogers replied. "Thank you for coming with me. Kass wanted to, but the last thing I need is a cat fight between her and Eloise. I can't believe she's been right under my nose this whole time."
"You know Eloise, when she doesn't want to be found she isn't found. Theres no telling what we are walking into knowing her history." Weaver sighed.
"Aye." Rogers replied and unbuckled his seatbelt.
Here goes nothing.
He got out of the car and walked up to the door and knocked on it. Weaver waited on the walkway incase he was needed. It was a few minutes later before the door opened and Eloise leaned against the frame. Rogers could smell the liquor on her before she even spoke.
"James?" She slurred.
"Its the middle of the afternoon. Why are you plastered? Where is Tilly?" Rogers asked.
"Tilly.. Tilly.." Eloise looked lost in thought for a moment. Rogers pushed his way into the house.
"Hey! You can't just come in here!" Eloise yelled.
"Like hell I can't." Rogers snarled. "Tilly!" He shouted and sighed in relief as the curly blonde headed girl made her way up the hallway.
"Daddy?" She asked and then grinned running to him. "Daddy!!!" She cried. Rogers crouched down and embraced her trying to control his emotions. He picked up the child.
"I missed you Daddy." Tilly said and threw her arms around his neck snuggling into him.
"I missed you too. Don't worry, We'll never be separated again." Rogers smiled.
"I thought you were in school." Eloise said.
"No mum.. You didn't take me today you were asleep." Tilly said.
"Come on Til." Rogers said and started carrying her out of the house.
"You can't just take her!" Eloise snapped.
"Try and stop me!" Rogers barked. "You didn't even bloody know she was here, What the hell is wrong with you? Did you even want her, or did you want to hurt me?"
Eloise rolled her eyes.
"Come Tilly." She said with her arms out. Tilly clung onto Rogers for dear life.
"I don't want to stay with you I want daddy." She cried.
Weaver walked into the house.
"Jesus Eloise, really?" He asked looking at the liquor bottles around the floor.
"Tell him he can't just take her." Eloise said.
"He can. And he will." He said and looked at Rogers. "Go. I'm going to call in for some backup. Take her home. I'll get a way back."
"Back up?" Eloise scoffed. "For?"
"You're out of my jurisdiction or It would be my pleasure to arrest you for child endangerment." Weaver sneered. "But I'm sure the officers around here would agree with me So we'll wait for them."
"Thank you." Rogers said and shot Eloise one final glare before leaving with Tilly.

-----------------------------------------------------

Rogers looked in the rearview mirror at Tilly sleeping in the backseat. Car rides always had made her sleepy. He was so glad to be bringing her home he kept finding himself in tears as he drove. He pulled up to his house and unbuckled and turned around.
"Hey, Til we're home." He said and nudged her leg. Tilly blinked her eyes open and yawned.
"Okay." She smiled and unbuckled.
"Remember before you fell asleep, we talked about Daddy's new special friend?" He asked.
Tilly nodded.
"Kassidy?"
"Yes Kassidy, She's a little nervous to meet you, She's afraid you won't like her."
"Thats Silly, Daddy." Tilly smiled. "Why wouldn't I? You said she's nice."
"Aye. She is." Rogers smiled. "Are you ready?"
"Yes!" Tilly grinned and opened the car door Rogers got out and took her hand leading her inside.
"Kass?" He called.
"In here." Kassidy called from down the hall. Rogers walked with Tilly down the hall to the spare bedroom.
"Wow. You have been busy love." Rogers grinned looking around, the bland spare bedroom looked fit for a princess. There was new bedding, and a bookshelf and stuffed animals sprawled in random places.
"Roni helped. I just.. Wanted to make it nice for her." Kassidy smiled.
"I love it!" Tilly beamed. Kassidy looked down at the child and crouched down.
"I'm Kassidy." She said and extended her hand.
"You're pretty, just like Daddy said. I'm Tilly." Tilly replied and put her hand in Kassidys.
Kassidy blushed and smirked at Rogers.
"Tilly, Kassidy helped me find you." Rogers said.
"Well actually it was my fr-" Kassidy started but was interrupted by the child wrapping her small arms around Kassidys neck, hugging her tightly.
"Thank you for finding me." Tilly said. Kassidy embraced the girl. She didn't know what she would think when the child arrived, but she knew at this moment as she held the girl in her arms that she would rain ten tons of hell on anyone who dared to hurt her.
"Daddy says you were nervous. Hugs make me feel better when I'm nervous." Tilly said.
Kassidy sniffled and hugged the girl tightly, she was so sweet.
Tilly gasped when she saw the books on the shelf behind Kassidy
"Are those for me?" She asked and walked over to the shelf.
"Yeah, I grabbed some books that I liked when I was your age." Kassidy smiled.
"You like books?" Tilly asked.
"I love books." Kassidy replied.
"We are going to get along great." Tilly grinned.

---------------------------------------------

After dinner and a bath, Tilly came out of her room with a book in her hands.
"Whats up Tilly?" Rogers asked.
"I wanted a story before bed. This one." Tilly said and held out Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
Rogers smiled. "Okay, go get in bed and i'll be in, in a minute."
"No, Daddy I want Kassidy to read it." Tilly smiled. "Please, Kassidy?" Tilly asked.
Kassidy nodded a bit taken aback by the child wanting her to read to her.
"Sure, Tilly." She smiled. "I'll be just a minute."
"Okay!" Tilly smiled and went down the hall.
"You've been chosen." Rogers laughed.

Rogers leaned against Tillys door frame watching Kassidy read to her, using a different voice for each character making Tilly giggle for someone who was so nervous about her ability to be a parent, Kassidy seemed to come by it naturally and watching her read and seeing the way her whole face would light up when she made Tilly giggle he'd never her look so damn beautiful. He snapped a picture on his phone and set it as his wallpaper and smiled at it.
