"Psst, Rue!" I whisper.
I feel a sense of dread. What if it isn't actually her? But when she walks forward, I see that it definitely is her. I breathe a sigh of relief and jump down from the tree. I hug her.
"I didn't think I would find you." My voice cracks as I try not to cry, "It's so horrible in here."
"I ran from the cornucopia before I saw anything." She explains to me.
I don't tell her I stayed and watched. Why did I stay and watch? Who would want to stay and watch that?
"Oh, Prim! l" She says excitedly, "I have water!" She tugs out a bottle from inside her jacket.
"Oh, Rue! Can we share it?" I plead.
"Of course!" She hands me the bottle and I take 4 little sips from it.
It's never felt so good to have water. It's dirty, but it's still water. I want to drink more, but I know we need to save it.
"Where did you get it from?" I ask.
"There's a river not far from here," She whispers, "I'll show you it tomorrow." She slips the bottle back into her jacket a tiptoes to the tree I slept in.
I follow her and we climb up, one by one.
A smile creeps onto my face. I can't believe I found her.
