The sun's beginning to rise. It's so clear and bright. It's an artificial sun, created by the gamemakers, but it's better than the real one. I allow myself to close my eyes once more, feeling the heat of the sun beating on my eyelids, before waking up Rue.
I shake her and tell her we need to move on now. Tributes may be catching up to us.
We jump down and start walking.
"Shouldn't we go back to the lake?" Rue asks tiredly.
"The other tributes will be there. Every tribute will go to where water is. We'll walk out some more, but come back to the lake later," I reply, "Also, do you have any food?"
"No, I couldn't find any."
There's a moment of silence.
"If you didn't go to the cornucopia, how did you find the water bottle?"
"I found it as I was running. Either a tribute dropped it, or the gamemakers put it there for some reason."
"Lucky." I say
We walk into a clearing and both gasp as we see a tribute laying on the ground and a tribute standing over them. Clove. A canon booms. She spots us and throws one of her knives. I look down. It's not me. Then I look beside me and catch Rue as she collapses.
