"I'm done."

Elka moved forward, grabbing the deviant by his arm and lifting him out of the chair. She turned him around to escort him from the room. She paused when the deviant resumed his shaking. He reached for her gun, grasping it before she could stop him. But instead of turning it on her, he aimed at the other android in the room.

"No, don't!" She ordered him.

Elka tried to wrench the weapon from him as he shot. Connor watched as the bullet flew past his head. She was pushed away by the deviant, who turned the barrel to his own head. Elka lunged for him, but he had already pulled the trigger.

When the female android opened her eyes, she was overwhelmed with guilt. She took her gun from the dead deviant's hand and stood up. The HK400 was still, his eyes wide open.

Elka was in shock, mouth agape and breathing heavily. She looked up at Connor who was across the room. Artificial tears filled her eyes. She said she'd protect him, but Connor was the one alive. Her LED was red, blinking angrily at the humans that entered the room. She looked down at the gun in her hand, aware of the people waiting for her to use it. Elka shoved the weapon back into her belt and stood at attention. Hank visibly relaxed, lowering his own gun.

"Who decided to give an android a gun?" Gavin scoffed angrily.

Elka watched him stalk over to her, taking the gun from her. She reached out, grasping the weapon. The android realized her mistake too late, as Gavin blinked at her in disbelief. Elka quickly released it and the officer pulled the firearm from her just as fast. Her eyes darted around the room, to Connor who advanced on her.

Connor held out his arm, patiently waiting. Elka only stared, backing away from him. He wanted her to connect with him, so he could check for signs of deviancy. She knew the protocol and how badly it ended for androids like her.

"Elka..." Hank warned, his voice low.

She looked at him slowly, before reaching out. Connor grasped her arm and she shuddered, her memories laid out for him to see. The male android stumbled back as her emotions flooded him. But neither let go.

"Connor?"

The android drew back, searching Elka's face. He would've analyzed her fear, but he had already received a taste of what it felt like, first-hand.

'Please, Connor' She pleaded with him, silently.

Connor turned to the Lieutenant, calm.

"The deviant damaged important biocomponents. It will need to do self-repairs before it will operate normally."

"So Elka isn't deviant?"

"No, any signs of deviance shown are side effects of the damage."

Hank sighed in relief, which only made Elka feel worse. But for the most part, she was focused on Connor. Human security came to take the dead android away, but she paid no attention. Once they left, it was just Connor and Elka alone. The corners of her mouth twitched into a smile, sharing one last glance with him.

"Thank you."
