Paraphernalia

Sprinklers spout rainbows
Invisible glass
You're a bird, but flight isn't all it's meant to be
The feathers drop from your wings...
So are you a dragon? A duck? A witch or a dove?
Something tells me
You're all of those things.

Electrical wires are octopi
But they can't help us see
Because both our suns crystallize
And you disappear before my eyes
Before the stars can set in my cup of tea.

I'll wander the world to find you
Wherever you could be
Are you submerged in a lavender sea?
Lost in a jeweled jungle
Deep as can be,
Exploring the caves
With a torch and a magic hat covering your eyes so green
I wonder if you miss me
Too.

If I keep repeating it, I hope it comes true;
We're okay,
We're okay,
We're okay...
For even if you don't love me back
I'll never stop caring for you.
I wish I'd stop caring for you.
