Embry’s POV

“You what!?” Both Frankie and I shouted at Collin. He sighed

“I’m sorry you know that if I could’ve controlled it I would have and wouldn’t of imprinted” Collin said his tone sad and hurt.

Frankie sighed “I know Collin, I’m glad you imprinted though” She congratulated him by hugging him. I calmed down.

I slapped his back “Congrats, man” He smiled a Collin smiled and I laughed a Collin smile was a cheesy ass smile that he did on purpose. We always laughed at him.

“How about we go to the beach? Just hang out?” Leah suggested. It was Me, Leah, Seth and Brady and Collin. As well as Will and Frankie of course. Paul, Jared, Jake and Sam are patrolling I don’t have shift until later tonight.

“Yeah, sounds good.” We walked out of the house, but not before telling Emily bye and where we were off to.

We walked to the beach it was about a 5 minute walk. We put our blankets down. Leah and Frankie sat as us guys decided to play soccer.

Frankie’s POV

“Frankie” Leah spoke after a few minutes of silence because we were so busy watching the guys.

            “Yeah?”

“Why were you so upset when we rescued you?” She asked. I never answered that question. I didn’t want to, but I knew I needed too.

“Remind me tonight at dinner so I can tell everyone at once.” She nodded as her reply.

            “Go Embry” I shouted.

“C’mon Will” They were on opposite teams. I shoved Leah playfully and she shoved me back. We started fake wrestling, the guys didn’t even notice.

I turned to my right and saw a girl who looked a lot like Melissa.

“Melissa” I said after observing for a few seconds. “I’ll be right back” Leah nodded understandingly. I walked over to Melissa as she sat down on the ground with her knees pulled up to her. I sat down next to her mimicking her.

“Hey” I spoke quietly feeling as if I spoke loudly she would resent me even more. She just looked at me saying nothing until looking at me. There was hatred obvious, completely obvious in her eyes.

“Don’t act like you care when you really don’t” She spat. I wasn’t surprised because I figured she’d say something like that and that would be her reaction.

“I do care, Melissa. I truly do” I replied still staying quiet.

“You left me for my brother. You know how much that hurts?” She said turning back to the water. Watching the waves and the young kids play in the cold water how their parents let them play in it goes above my head.

“Melissa, you know I didn’t. I was still your best friend, you pushed me away” I argued my voice at normal strength I wasn’t trying to play the blame game, but I wasn’t going to stand for her to sit there and say all of it was my fault.

“Because you chose him over me!” She nearly shouted. I sighed

            “It’s complicated.”
